Some ways, lol. I agree with you. What I meant by that is that there were some ways he could have more easily gotten what he wanted. Kind of like a dramatical flair.

I feel like explaining myself, pfft, so I will. Gray was first introduced as a joking character, when she made fun of her own name; she's perfectly capable of being serious, but a good chunk of her is a walking jester that doesn't like seriousness. You can think of it as Deku's passivism manifesting in a different way. Gray is destined to be a confusing character in the end, though, because I purposefully only gave her one POV, and even then, it's a little debatable. I think the randomnity is part of her charm though.
