…. I personally think the change is not that big. I mean, there is character development but at the same time he follows his own wants and likes and needs just like usual. It was not that huge of a deviation because, like what was emphasized, mc actually liked the progression of what happened. He knew beforehand ml would snap and do something in line with what he did. He was even looking forward to it. It was not complete tolerance. It was a sort of amendment - kinda - of what he usually pikes and tolerates because just like what he had said beforehand, his life in ths beta-ing business would be looooooooong. And there will inevitably be a time that he’ll change to accomodate his situation while following his likes at the same time. Besides, it was already noted that mc is an abnorm- I mean unusual human. The author did a good job of doIng mc’s character from start up to the present.
