Looking through the room , he only saw a bed that was  surrounded by stacks of worn out books. The old man was living a simple life of a magician who was solely focused on studies. Nodus sat down on the bed and after 5 minutes went by , the old man pushed the door open. "Follow me my disciple." Although the old man was covered in dust , he had a stern expression as he looked at Nodus. Going through the door , Nodus saw a short hall way that led into a spiral stair case that went downward while it went upward on the opposite side of the hall. "I haven't use my training room for a really long times.." The old man was leading Nodus even higher as they went up the stairs until they reached a metal door.

The old man took out a rainbow colored  crystal and inserted onto the big hole on the bronze metal door. The door shook as it trembled , causing a layer of bronze fragments falling down onto the ground and dissipated into a dust of cloud. With cracks of light coming from the crystal , the door became gold as it slowly opened inward. "Go on." The old man made way for Nodus and let him go in first before he followed up. Going into the seemingly attic part of the pointy roof that was on top of the academy tower , Nodus found himself standing in a wide white space. The wide space was half the size of his Ether dimension in his White Jade , stretching around 50 meters on each side. "Hehe- Ah you don't look surprised at all!"

The old man reverted back from his mocking grin into his stern and serious expression."Ahem! This is my personal training room! " Pointing on each 6 corner of the room , Lingon explained that he created it himself by placing a medium size spatial rock as the main foundation and hence , created a dimensional room that was bigger than the outside. "This is where I spent most of my times in the past , training my old disciples." The old man felt his heart clenching as he stared at the piles of books that he just stacked up a moment ago. "Where are they now?" Nodus was curious as he noticed hundreds of scrolls , books and blank papers in a corner. "They are grown up now with  the youngest being 40 years old.." The old man said that most of his disciple went out of the continent to explore while a few of the remained and made a living by themselves somewhere. With a total of 4 disciple , none of them were close to being a supreme magicians until Nodus arrived. With his kindle re ignited , Lingon was sure that the young man , his main disciple could become the first supreme magician that haven't been seen in millennia or even the youngest one ever in the history.

"I hope that you will never lose the passion and desire that made you who you are today. Never stop until you reached the end of the road!" Not only he was encouraging Nodus , he was also affected by his own words. But unlike many others , Nodus end of the road was really , really far in the distance as his dream was to be strong enough to conquer a universe , a dream bigger than  others."Don't worry teacher , I will even surpass the supreme ranks." Lingon was surprised by the young man and asked him curiously, "Nodus , you know about the next rank after a supreme one? " The young man responded with a unsure tone. "The ancient rank?"

The old man laughed at his answer and rubbed his tears with his finger. "Ancient rank? hahaha if that was your goal then , I have no worries at all because I have no idea what is that!!" Looking at the confused young man , the old man explained that after a supreme rank , it was the heavenly rank that required a extreme amount of comprehension of the natures. "So that's why.. I do not doubt you at all , if an ancient rank exist then it must surely be higher than the heavenly ranks." Nodus nodded and after their short little conversation , Lingon had his newest disciple read one of his ten books about his mana comprehension. After passing the knowledge exam first , Lingon would then pass down the mana cultivation to Nodus.

The young man held onto the worn out book that was thicker than his fist and started reading as he sat on the ground. "I will leave these papers here , Answer them when you are done going through all of the volumes." The old man placed the papers on a wooden desk that was in the middle of the wide empty space and left through the golden door. Seeing that the old man left , Nodus pulled out his device and scanned the entire 10 volumes of the mana comprehension.  "Compile , set it as Mana Comprehension by Lingon." After the black circle slowly filled up , Nodus sat down with his leg crossed. "Integrate." A small pain went through his head as he felt like a small tiny needle was poking through his brain.

"Fusion complete." The robotic voice woke up Nodus as he opened his eyes. Looking at the wooden desk and chair. The young man slowly made his way there and he recited the books quietly. 'I can feel it , my questions are answered by myself.' As he tested himself by thinking of a question that he read from the paper , the answers came automatically in his mind as if he was the one who wrote the book. "What is elemental mana..Book 3 , page 677.." Nodus even remembered the exact location of the paragraph that contained his answers. As he finished his task under an hour , Nodus walked around the wide space. 'Solid wall..' He was rubbing the white wall with his palm and after a while , he decided to scan through the books in the corner of the space.

Looking at the book titltes one by one , Nodus found one that introduced the fire element. "Fire Magic , elementary level.. All of his disciples must of been young at first." Flipping through the pages , Nodus saw a bunch of magic graph that could be invoked with the fire elements. "These are most likely the basic spells." Looking at the simple diagram , Nodus easily copied with his left hand as he held on the book with his other hand. "Fire shot." Spreading his fingers and with his palm facing straight ahead , a small magic graph appeared and shot a small fire ball that disappeared after reaching 10 meters. "Hmm.. It says on the book that it could only reach 3 to 5 meters depending on the user." He quickly understood that it must be because of his pure mana. "That was easy.. what about the next spell..Fire Strike?" Slowly drawing the magic graph in his mind , Nodus shot out a fire ball from his palm that was faster then the fire ball as it dissipated on the 10 meters mark. 'It's just a faster version of fire ball..'

As the young man flipped the page one by one , he easily learned all of the basic spells on his first try. "Fire arrow.. Decent enough..., Fire spear?.. that's just a better version of fire arrow.. Fire shield.. my suit is better.." After going through half of the book , the young man realized that he had to change his mindset on power level and pretended that he was a rookie magician. "Oh.. Pinnacle Beginner rank highly recommended before starting.." Without a single care , the young man flipped through the page and saw the first magic spell. "Fire Blaze" The magic graph in his palm was bigger than usual as it sprayed out dozen of small fire balls that went over 15 meters. "It's a barrage of fire strikes..Getting better.."

The young man couldn't help to be curious as he flipped through the page once again. Fire claw , Fire blast , etc... Nodus easily finished the other half of the book that was meant for a peak beginner magician and placed the book back onto the stacks. "Hmm.. That was good.. gave me some ideas but did not help me with controls at all." All of the basic spells involved flying straight forward so Nodus didn't even have to bother adjusting the directions. Feeling slightly hungry , Nodus was about to leave through the door but Lingon came in first with two maids that were holding a big plateau that was filled with meat and vegetables.

"Oh? Nodus? Are you bored already?" The old man and the maids were surprised for different reasons. The old man simply thought Nodus was more of a serious child while the maids were shocked by the fact the principal took on another disciple. 'Another disciple.. A cute one at that..' The maids placed the big plate on the table beside the entrance and left the space after bowing to the old man. "Yes , I finished the exam too." The old man eyes were big and round as he ran toward the desk in the middle of the space. 'Ugh.. why did I put the desk so far away' His main goal was to prevent Nodus from being distracted by placing it in the middle but it backfired on his old legs. 

"Nodus!... Yo..you.. how did you finis- I mean how long did it take you to read all of the books!?" The old man dropped all ten papers onto the desk as he  turned his attention back to his disciple. "Hmm..I can read really fast so... around 1 hour?" The young man supported his chin with his fist as he thought of an excuse. "What! You mean.. you finished the books under 30 minutes?!" Nodus was confused as he spent a tleast 50 minutes fusing with the books and with the last 10 min writing down the answers. The old man ran back again and held onto Nodus shoulder while gaping for oxygen. Looking at the serious but dried old man , Nodus inclined his head. "T..This space.. times.. slower.. than outside.." The old man slipped onto the floor and felt unconscious after explaining to Nodus. 'No legs days.. only arms?..."

After an intense galactic battle, Nodus, the strongest mystic esper found himself in an unfamiliar world filled with many unknown species. 
Thank god there are humans here... candles, stone houses...? Their technology seems to be... nonexistent...but flying on a sword and magical relics is normal? What kind of ancient world is this?

7 Chapter a week 
Release time 7AM MDT

Seraphine kept staring at Desmond as she suddenly sighed "well it's not like I could stop you anyway with that kind of blind devotion to magic you'll fit right in with all those other magi if you ever make it that far that is. I'll get you that introduction into magic book set for you now. 

"Wait, I only wanted to know the prices of those books I don't have any Drachma on me to buy them at the moment". Desmond was saddened by how he was unable to buy those books right now but, he had to find his home first and get cleaned up so he could exchange those monster cores for money.

Seraphine looked straight at Desmond "judging from your armor you must have just come back from clover forest so you must have gotten some kind of magical plant or monster core out there you can just use that to change for the books".

Desmond's eyes grew wide in surprise "I can trade my monster cores her".

"A lot of stores don't except monster cores or herbs for trade because of price fluctuations but you can here. You also may wind up taking a loss if you trade your monster core directly to us or we will end up on the losing end of the deal and not make a prophet but me and my husband have been doing this for years so it's gonna be hard to try and scam us." she really does not want to let this sale go, she really is one hell of a salesperson.

I nod my head in agreement It's not like I could have used those monster cores to do anything with so trading them for Magic books is most definitely worth it to me.

"Alright just give me a second to get them" I get down on one knee open my bag and take out the 3 shining monster cores which I hand off to seraphine.

She takes the cores and inspects them "let's see two small blue cores there beginner apprentice grade and most likely drowner cores. Only worth about one mage stone for the both of them you need 40 for them to equal one magic crystal still it's more than enough to pay for that introduction into magic package. The second one Is advance apprentice grade it's in good condition I don't know from what creature, but about 50 magic crystals on the low end".

"Hubby, mind taking out that new appraisal device I just bought" she through my monster core at Ragnar who caught it with one hand.

"Alright just give me a second" from under the counter he pulled out a wide black slab that had white carvings on it the same kind that are on my gun and bullets. The carvings glowed when he placed the green sphere on it.

"It appears to be from a sleeping death plant its worth I would say around 100 magic crystals. How In the world did you manage to get a monster core like this? Sleeping deaths are quite hard to kill for creatures. below the level of rank 1 their one of the toughest even with a group.

They may have a weak defense but they always put everything around them to sleep and then trap their prey in an illusion that is hard to break out of without the right potions. Since potions are so expensive there is basically no profit when hunting these things which is why so few even bother to do it". Ragnar had a look of suspicion when he looked at me it made me feel uncomfortable.

Since it was not something I had to keep a secret any way I just told him so he would not think I stole the thing while leaving out the important details and changing some things around I even took out the gun and knife I used and showed It to him. 

"An enchanted flintlock with enchanted pullets the guns an old model worth about 300-400 magic crystals and the bullets about mage stones 10 each looks like even some of the runes are losing their power, but it does explain how someone as weak as you could defeat that thing so easily. The knife is about 100 to 150 magic crystals it only has one active not passive basic enchant making it sharper when you inject mana into it". To think you would get lucky enough to spot one of those things from a distance and shoot its stem before it could even spot you now aren't you lucky.

Ragnar handed me back my things as I asked him about the enchanted knife" This knife was gifted to me by an old friend but I have never used an enchanted blade before can you tell me how I inject my magic into it to activate the runes?". 

"You must really suck at using magic to not even know how to do that. Listen up since everyone has some amount of magic in them well most of the time that is there are still those rare chances someone's born without magic. Everyone unconsciously releases Magic in every action they do. People who train in magic can stop that flow of magic from leaking out.

That's why at times you can find traces of magic on some of the greatest artworks in history or even fined some on your food when you're eating at a restaurant even if the person is not a mage.

Injecting magic Into something is easier than people think since we're always doing it. It's just hard to switch it from passively releasing it to actively releasing magic.

So, what you need to do is simply focus by feeling the flow of magic inside your body and directing In a way that feels comfortable to you. It helps if you imagine your body as a vast lake and you have a channel going from that lake up to your arm to the weapon".

Ragnar took back the curved dagger he handed to me to demonstrate what he said. As he held the weapon in his hand it glowed a soft light. The light was very faint though only comparable to a wisp of smoke. He then took out a block of wood from under the counter placed it on the table and cut it in half as easy as cutting through a steak. So there was still some resistance but, he ended up cutting it fairly cleanly in half.

My eyes grew wide after seeing this "this enchant is amazing it's so powerful".

"No, it's not its one of the most basic ones there are a bunch of things out there you could never hope to harm with only something like this" Ragnar shook his head feeling as though that old man's chances of becoming a mage had just worsened.

Desmond thought that these people were very useful they kept telling him all kinds of things he needed to know for free. It was all general knowledge but it was still things he did not know so he thought about making the most out of their kindness.

"I remember you were reading a scroll when I first walked in. I happen to have a few scrolls given to me for my protection, but he forgot to tell me what any of them did so I can't use any of them until I know their effects can you please identify them for me".  Desmond then went into his bag and took out 5 rolled up scrolls and handed them to Ragnar.

He proceeded to unfurl the scroll place it on the table and turn it towards me while placing his finger on the top right corner. "You see these words up here it's modern Zedrick, not ancient Zedrick like how most spells are written or spoken in so you should be able to tell what the scrolls are yourself this one says, Earth Spike surge. 

It creates a wave of earth spikes in every direction from the ground in any location you want within 30 feet that shoots up and stabs your enemy.

You also have one that says magic needles a lower level spell compared to magic missiles, acid splash, low-grade invisibility, and firestorm, that one's not actually half bad. Except for firestorm which is an advanced apprentice spell the rest are at an intermediate apprentice grade.

Activation requires no magic there are three ways to activate the scroll even tear it up, speak to spell name, or read the incantation. just so you know no one does the last one it takes too much time". He told me what all the scroll's effects did and their effective range.

He then handed me back all my scrolls I put them away and right after that his wife seraphine walked up to me with a pile of books wrapped up in hand. " Your Introduction into magic book set is there anything else you need". She had a sweet smile on her face as she asked me that.

I looked at the books she brought me the were not that thick as I had expected that's when I noticed this book set did not come with some important ones that he needed to know about magic.

"Yes, this book set doesn't seem to come with a book on how to read ancient Frazik, or how to read runes. There is also no book on how to make a magic circle, cast spells or a book about magical plants or creatures".

"Those books are not included in the public book set. A book on how to read ancient Zedrick is only 10 magic crystals, the book on how to read runes is 30 magic crystals, the book on the basics of creating a magic circle is 40 magic crystals, the book of magical plants and creatures depending on the one you want around 20 magic crystals. spellbooks we are not allowed to sell anything beyond Beginner Apprentice Grade and depending on the kind of spellbook you want it'll be between 20 and 100 magic crystals each".  

I still did not know the value of magic crystals but if I treat every magic crystal I see like 100 dollar bills than I start to get a sense of how expensive everything is.

"I want the book on how to read ancient Zedrick, ancient runes, and one book with the most information about magical plants and creatures. I would also like a book about the history of Theotera, and a map of the world, a map of the clover forest and a map of the city". I've been lost and stupidly walking around for far too long I really need those maps.

"We don't have a map of Theotera but we do have a book with a map in it for 3 magic crystals. Those 2 other maps are only 200 drachma (or 2 Gold Mines). Will that be everything you wish to purchase". She said with a smile.

"Yes, that's all I would like to buy today. I may not know the true value magic crystals I can still feel the sting in my pocket. My piecing together everything I know about prices in this world currently it's no wonder that guard said Magi apprentices are broke.  She started to walk off to grab my books when I suddenly stopped her.

"Wait a moment, please I am a bit lost currently can you direct me toward the underground" I have been searching all around for where I lived yet no memories are surfacing so either I'm missing an obvious clue or this man used to live somewhere in that place they call the underground.

"Sure I can help you, see we're currently on the intersection between District D and C called morning road. If you want to reach the trains heading Underground you'll have to go towards the tall Bell Tower in the distance. You'll see it if you just look up the bell towers signifies the train depot in this area". She quickly answered my question before promptly leaving grabbing my books and handing them to me.

"That all comes out to 68 magic crystals and 200 drachma (or 2 Gold Mines) your change is 31 magic crystals and 19 and 3/4's of mage stones and since mortal money does not transfer well with the money magi use you have the option of 99 gold mine and 98 Drachma or you could buy more books". The lady was a splendid sale man as she told me this.

So, magi don't accept those bills I keep seeing as payment "can In open a tab here and put that money in it I plan on coming back there are still more books I need to buy. Just give me 800 Drachma (8 gold mine)." Carrying all those bills in my pocket would be annoying anyway. Magic Crystals are apparently a better form of payment anyways.

"Of course you can, may I have your name please"

"My name is Desmond Gillies" She had taken my name down and hands me my money in a leather pouch. The magic crystals were the length and width of my finger making them annoying to carry. They were light blue and looked like they had a rainbow inside of them. The drachma was in paper form like dollar bills just silver and had pictures of mages on them. They ranged from they came in the form of 1, 10, 20, 50, and 100 bills.

"They're even able to put pictures of themselves on their money magi really are full of themselves, I can't wait to become one".

After that, I leave the store with all my books in tow heading toward that train depot to find my home while looking towards a bright future.

What is the truth? What is reality? Could the end actually be the beginning? The sky is clear and the weather is nice. At the hot spring in the west garden of Misty Villa,

'Ah, it feels really good!'

Qin Yu, dressed in a pair of shorts, is lying in the hot spring. Regardless of winter or summer, one needs not worry about the temperature while in the hot spring. Misty Villa's hot spring is different from other hot springs because it has fantastic effects. According to a medical expert's research, this hot spring has quite a few substances which are beneficial to the body.

'Xiao Hei, come down here!' Qin Yu suddenly reaches out his hand, grabs Xiao Hei and playfully pulls it into the hot spring.

Xiao Hei immediately flaps its wings hurriedly but when it escapes, its plumage is already drenched, which makes it really look like a soaked chick. With its body dripping water, Xiao Hei looks 'bitterly' at Qin Yu, as if it is blaming the little master for teasing it.

Seeing Xiao Hei's appearance, Qin Yu immediately raises his head and laughs out loud: 'Ha-ha, Xiao Hei, you're really adorable, soak in the hot spring with me, will you? It feels very good. I started spending a lot of time with Maya for the past 2 months. She is very mature for her age and has an older sister air around her. She helps me crawl, eat and enjoys reading books for me. At the same time, I think she figured out that I am not your average baby. She always talks to me as if I understand her and I sometimes unintentionally nod when she asks something... But I have a feeling that she is like mother, I can trust her.
Another thing is that Nigel has been showing up less and less, it seems he is spending a lot of time clearing the Growling Woods that have started to house more and more mana beasts. Not sure how I feel about this emperor Julius character, he gets mentioned in almost every book there is, were there no other heroes after his death? What makes me the most puzzled is that in his story it says that he was born a farmer but an 'Evil Witch' killed his village and forced him into slavery. After many years of being a slave, he somehow managed to escape and vowed to punish the 'Evil Witch' and all of her 'Evil' female friends for all the atrocities that they have done. In almost all of the stories about him women are portrayed as inferior and because of that they are more likely to walk the path of evil? It kinda makes no sense because usually, it is the other way around? Or am I just using the common sense from Earth that does not apply here? The one thing that is surprisingly strange is that he was the one that encouraged humans to only have one united language. It's quite weird how there are no records of the human race before emperor Julius it's as if humans did not exist before that. It doesn't make sense, surely there must have been some knowledge recorded in other languages. Did they translate all the old books to this new centralized language or have they been forgotten? I wish 'Siri' wasn't so useless when it comes to knowledge about how the world works. Didn't geezer say she will help me to learn about the world? What a scam artist...
Oh and apparently I just needed to write a word and it was enough for the [Helper System] to complete the quest, well I guess if I can write a word I can write many more? Not sure if such an achievement is akin to me being a 'genius' but it probably has to do with me being 5 months old?

The faster learning part is good but the threshold part is even better. I now have a general idea of how power is measured. Normal people have an average stats of about 10, they are also called dregs of society because they failed to pass the threshold of 10 and can't become apprentice warriors. Apprentice warriors are those that have passed the threshold of 10, I am not sure at what point you become an actual warrior but it seems that warriors are far rarer than apprentice ones. After that comes knights which my father is, a very respected individual by all races, and they seem to be the main powerhouses of many kingdoms. I can only assume but I think that dragon knight is the next stage but I might be wrong. It would be weird that someone who is so much glorified as a legendary existence is only one stage higher than that dumb father of mine. Or I might be presumptions and biased? I might just be looking for a reason to dislike my father because I had a scumbag one on Earth. But if Knights are so respected in all societies why is our family at the bottom of the noble rankings? I am not saying I am dissatisfied with my current lifestyle but we aren't particularly living in luxury either. Instead of getting more answers, I keep getting more questions... Just why is our Moon family in such a state?
Anyways these 2 months were very fruitful, not only did I finish the [Knowledge is Power 1] but I also finished [Before you learn how to run you must learn how to walk] quest.

There are affinities for almost any element, apparently, my sister and father have an affinity for ice magic which is a tier higher than water magic but in my [Status] it does not show that I have an affinity for ice magic. From the few books that I have read, it seems that those that can tame mana beasts are only demons but somehow I 'a human' can possess such [Talent] with the help of [Helper System]. It seems that as geezer said, I can choose any path I want, but probably becoming a heretic isn't the brightest idea... But becoming an Alchemist could be a lucrative opportunity, from what I read only 1 in 10000 posses an Alchemist [Talent] and are highly valued by all kingdoms. So if I get tired of doing quests and just want to live a happy life of luxury I always have a way out. Well, of course, I would need to amass a little bit more of [HP] because right now I am only gaining it as an additional reward and not as an actual reward...
Another interesting thing is that my sister in only 2 months went from 1-star apprentice to 2-star and by the look of things it seems that even father was shocked by this news. Considering the fact that the apprentice warriors of our family are around 6 to 8 stars and are full-fledged adults even I am a little bit shocked. I do see her train every single day but did those apprentices not train too or is my sister way more awesome than I thought? At least Nigel is not here to taunt her...

He didn't want to cause any trouble, as even royalty can't enter the royal library without proper procedure. He will later find out, that gaining access to the royal library was like a report card that showed how likely a prince is to be considered a candidate for the status of crown prince and his favorability in the eye of the king which also explains why Adone's sister was able to gain access to the royal library easily (doesn't matter if she was banned afterward). It also makes the standing of the person in the royal clan clear.
"Please wait, your highness, I will inform the head librarian," the guard said as he walked inside the massive building.
After ten or so minutes an old man with a long white beard walked out of the building. (The regular cliché of Dumble##re)
"How can I be of service, your highness?" he asked with neither being rude nor being servile.
"Father, his Majesty asked me to deliver this scroll to you" he gave the scroll to the old man.
The old man opened the scroll, read the letter and then stared at the kid with disbelief written all over the face but he didn't point it out 'how could a five year old kid be able to gain access to the library even if he was a royal'
He let out a sigh, then said "Come with me, your highness"
Adone followed him in the library along with his guards.
"This library was formed by the founder of the kingdom and your grandfather. This library holds almost all the knowledge that the kingdom was able to gather in its thousand years of existence. There are many books in this place that are one of its kind and the knowledge that they hold will be lost if the books are harmed, even though it might cause you no pain but it will be a huge blow to kingdom in the long run, so you must take care of the books that are placed in here"
"You are only allowed to take the books kept in first and second floor outside the library as they are copies of the originals that are stored in a secret location, the books on the third floor are only one of a kind thus you are not allowed to take it with you and even the ones you take, return them as earliest as possible though you are not required to return in specific time frame" He said sternly
"Yes, I know" replied Adone.
"You can take a look, the books are classified according to their subject so we can find them easily. If you have any problems please ask the librarian on the floor" the old man left soon after giving Adone an introduction to the library.
"Where should I start from? Umm... Okay, I will start from the geography and history section of the first floor and then move from there" Adone was so excited that he was not able to get all the information necessary without much of a problem or harassment of his sister.
He went to the geography section of the first floor and started reading the names of the books

"Little Feng! Tonight, Your father, I will teach you about cultivation."

Tian Lang began to explain the little Tian Feng in his hand. "Cultivation is an arduous task. To cultivate, one must have innate talent and potential. To progress further, one must have a strong determination. But that's not enough, you also need to have a path."

Tian Lang's voice was melodious and soothing. It actually felt nice to hear. Somehow it makes one remember it in their heart. This is different from his usual voice.

"A path?" Tian Feng asked in a low voice.

"Close your eyes! Feel it!"

Tian Feng is lamenting in his heart. [A path! It's the same as all those novels that I read. It's not that hard to understand. However, just like those novels, my father didn't tell me the specific procedure at all. How am I even starting to sense Qi?]

Noticing that his son expression, Tian Lang seemed a bit helpless. "Little Feng! It's not that I want to make thing hard for you. Alright! I'll tell you about my experiences when I first start to cultivate. It's the most I can do for you. I hope it can help. When I first start to cultivate..."

He went on and on about his experiences while cultivating. Tian Feng was listening attentively but he couldn't make out any useful information at all.

After a long while...

"Alright, that's all. Now, It's your turn to try it out". Although he wanted to teach his son to cultivate quick, there's nothing he can do in this situation. He also noticed that his son doesn't seem to understand anything at all. But he can only hope for the best.

Tian Feng reluctantly sits down in the lotus position with his father's help. 

In fact, this position is not necessary but he was influenced by many martial dramas that he watched in his previous life.

After which, he closed his eyes and tries to feel his body and the surrounding.

Last night, his father told him that most people would be able to sense Qi on the first try and that some genius can have a breakthrough to the next level in one go.

"Is there something I missed? or perhaps I do it wrong somewhere?"

He kept thinking about this for the whole morning. In the afternoon, when his mother came to find him. She was scared out of her wit because her son now looked so pale and weak. 

She immediately asked him about what happened worriedly. Tian Feng told her everything.

After she learned about the matter, she hugged him and said softly
"Little Feng! Even if you can't cultivate, your mother will still love you. Maybe your body is still too young. When you grow older, you can try it again. Mother believes that you will be able to cultivate and become a great person in the future."

What he doesn't know is, he can't cultivate because he's actually a young man inside a baby body. He already lost his baby talent for leaning thing. His mind already got influenced by the outside world.

In that evening, he has decided to ask his parent if they have any book. He had spent that afternoon thinking about what to do and recalled that knowledge is also one kind of power. 

He used to love studying. He loves books. There's only one problem, he doesn't have a good memory. 

When he was 15 years old, he underwent a heartbreak experience. He was so stressed that it actually affected his brain. He started to become forgetful day after day. But now he was still a baby and his brain hasn't damaged yet. 

[Maybe I still can change fix my memory problem.]

His parent didn't say anything negative. After dinner, his mother brought him some books for kids.

He opened one of the books and started reading. YEAH, he started reading in front of his mother.

Sitting by his bedside, his mother is now staring at him with a shocked face. "You... you know how to read?" 

Earlier, she was about to read them for him. But who could have known that a baby can read by himself?

Hearing his mother question, he was stunned. He was so agitated that he totally forgot that he was a baby and a baby is not supposed to be able to read a book. 

Previously when he talked with his mother, he didn't tell her that he comes from another world yet. It was not that he didn't want to but he didn't know how to start talking about it.

Knowing that his secret can't be kept anymore. He decided to tell her about his other life. Whether she believes him or not doesn't matter anymore. Since he can't even cultivate, he started to expect less and less with this new life. 

The effects of instant gratification haven't worn off yet. One failure is enough to make him depressed.

He's actually a good liar. However, he doesn't like to lie to people closed to him. Lying to them make him feel really bad.

"Actually, I have this memory..." He began to tell her about everything from when he first came into this world and his life on Earth.

"No wonder why you can speak so maturely..." said his mother believed in her child completely.

Not daring to meet his mother's gaze, he lowered his head. 

"Mother, would you believe me?"

His mother patted his head and smile. "Of course! I believe in you. I'm your mother after all. In fact, It's actually easier to believe in this than to believe that a baby can read without learning."

A moment later, she stood up and walked away. "I'll bring some other books." then she left.

Tian Feng was in a daze. He didn't expect his mother to believe him completely. His heart felt warm and guilty. 

[In this life, I'll make my parent happy.] He firmly thought to himself and made a silent decision.

After waiting for a while, his mother came back with a basket of books. It's all necessary knowledge about the world. 

There's history, geography, math, literature... just like school. The smell of the books filled the room. Tian Feng felt invigorated at the sight and smell of the books.

If he didn't love books this much, earlier he wouldn't let down his guard and read in front of his mother.

His mother was taking out those books one by one, allowing him to see the title. One by one, there were 120 books. There are all kinds of book laying on the floor of his room but there's one book that caught his attention.

Ignoring that book, he picked one history book and started reading. After he read for several pages, his mother told him to sleep and not to stay up late. He agreed and went to sleep.

He didn't pick the book that caught his attention first because it's a cultivation book "Steel Body". He can't even walk yet so he decided to take a look later when he can actually cultivate.

10 months later...

Tian Feng has almost finished all the 120 books. The total amount of books had increased to 130. There are two books about the academy and the rest is cultivation books.

As he read a lot of books, he came to know that while the geniuses can simply success at their first try in cultivation. The same can't be said about most of the ordinary people.

He had an idea that if he could somehow get to know more about what is actually cultivation, he might just be able to sense that atmospheric energy. It was hard to sense something you can't even imagine in the first place.

As such, last week, he asked his mother to buy cultivation books.

Today is his 2 years old birthday. Those books have become his birthday present. Last night, his mother already gave him the books but unfortunately, she also told him to sleep and read them later.

Normally, he would be able to read them by the morning inside his room but ever since he can walk some time ago, his mother started bringing him to the restaurant every day so that she can help out with the works there. 

If it was before, she wouldn't bring him there even if he can walk but now that she knows that he's actually a young man inside, she didn't have to worry too much.

His mother already told his father about everything that night and they both believe him without question. They only said, "No matter what, you are our son, be it your previous life or this life."

His father didn't even have the slightest hint of disappointment. It was something that he didn't expect. 

Riding on the motorbike, it didn't take long before they reached the restaurant. It felt great to ride this motorbike with his parents again. He remembers those times from when he was young. 

He would always sit in the front seat until he couldn't sit there anymore. It was his favourite spot because he can see everything.

In the restaurant, he's able to observe many things. This is a world of cultivation but no one is walking around with a sword or any weapon. It wasn't a surprise as he had read about it before.

This is a rather peaceful era. The civilization is under control. Compared to what he read from those novels on Earth, this world is rather modern.

The foods in the restaurant looked good. There are many kinds of wines. It seems good just by smelling, he can't wait to taste them. 

His father didn't cook by himself as much anymore as he hired a chef for the restaurant when he was born. His mother was only responsible for taking bills and orders. Most of the time, she would stay by the cashier table because that's where Tian Feng is.

Except for sitting in the restaurant next to his father's subordinates, he didn't go anywhere else. He's an introvert by nature. He only cared about his books and only looked around once in a while.

Tian Feng was a bit restless today as he finally decided to read that book by tonight. "Steel Body"

Day and night exchanged place. It's already time to close the restaurant. At night, it wasn't so dark on the road. There are lanterns that lid the way. 

Tian Feng enjoyed the cold breeze that brushes his face as he's going back home.

After dinner, he walked toward that book and picked it up. At that moment, a series of notifications ring up in his mind.

"Ding...World Data initialization completed"

"Ding...data is analyzed"

A little boy stares into the glass. His eyes shine as he looks at the latest steampunk books. The boy reached into his pockets. He took out about £20. It was enough to buy it and have extra. As he entered, the bell on the door rung. The boy took a few looks at some other books. " Let me see... oh, there it is!" He said, reaching out to the book. He grabbed it and took and looked to make sure it was the book he saw. It matched how it looked outside. He went and took it to the counter.

 The man at the counter looks at him as he puts the book down. " Let me guess August, your here again to buy another steampunk book?'' 

" Yep!'' August said excitedly, giving him the book and money.

 " You must be the brightest kid in Britain, giving you always buy the newest books when they're out" He told him as he gave the book back. " Have a good day, August!"

 " You too!" August told him as he left with the book tightly in his arms.

August walked down the street with the book. He took a turn left and headed for the nearby cafe. He opened the door and reached the counter. 

" May I get a hot chocolate, please?'' He said to the woman there. 

" Sure, It'll be done it a minute." She told him as she was making a drink for another customer.

 August sat down and got out his book. As he started to read, he heard a small thud on the table. He looked up to see his friends Jasper and Ruby sitting down with him.

 " Hi Jasper, Ruby. What are you guys doing here?'' 

" You left your bracelet at Ruby's house." Jasper put the bracelet onto the counter. The gears shined in the light. 

August had gotten the bracelet from his father, Erin Hooper, for his 8th birthday. His father had noticed he started to bring home books and motivated him to read more by buying him things every 10 books he read. He had read 40 books that week and his birthday was coming up, so his father had hand-made the bracelet for him. 

" Thanks for bringing it!" He said, smiling. " My break isn't very long, but you guys can stay if you want." He put his bracelet on as he spoke.

" Sure, since we haven't seen you since you started working at your dad's shop." Ruby said, getting up to buy some tea. " What do ya want? " She asked Jasper.

" I'll get some myself, thank you." He said, waiting for her to leave the seat.

" Here you go, there's your tea, August."  The waiter, Alison, handed his tea to him. 

" Thank you, Miss Alison." August thanked her and took his tea.

A few minutes later, Ruby ran over toward August quickly, very out of breath." Sorry August, we gotta go!" Our moms need both of us. Maybe we can talk tomorrow?" She asked him. 

" Sure, that's fine!" He smiles at her as he sipped his tea. " My break is about over, so I gotta go anyway."

" Goodbye, Ruby! And say Hi to Jasper for me, will ya? " August said as he got up.

" Ok! Bye August!" Ruby said as she hugged him. 

" Thanks, Ruby." He said as he hugging her back.

They stopped hugging and Ruby left. He left a bill of £8 on the table. He went, took his book, shoved it into his bag, and left the cafe. " Have a good day, Alison!" He waved at her as he left.

His life was going to be normal, as least until he's 24.
