This is my first work in earnest. It details the life of a commoner from ancient China who "transmigrates" into a different world where immortals and demons exist. A large focus of this story is his cave abode, his base of operations, if you will. Too often are cultivation novels a fast paced sequence of 'fighting this dude to get this woman' or 'tripping backwards into a well that contains an invincible treasure', repeat for 1000 chapters. This is slower paced, where time is taken to meticulously craft characters and bring them to life, where cultivators are very much still human. As our protagonist cultivates himself, he also cultivates his lifestyle and hobbies, planting immortal vegetables, playing music and debating with friends. But of course, it can't just be slice-of-life. Directionless narrative is boring, after all. Once our protagonist forms his foundation, trouble comes to his doorstep, then the fun begins. Treat the first few chapters as a prologue. It's slow paced, I know, but patience is a virtue and good things come to the virtuous. *rated 4 stars in stability of updates, since I have a life :)
