Overall a very plain writing style and story. But it is curious and even paradoxical that, that same plain quality helps somewhat the reading. The problem is that, as usual, and given that this is a story in the "modern world", "glorified racism" rapidly shows it ugly and unnecessarily head. Things like the foreigners calling the Chinese as despicable and the Chinese comparing them to beasts... It really reminds one of those cheesy B movies with cheap "theatrical dialogues and plots". It is sad because there are great examples that shows that B movies don't have to be so bad.
