the reason people who are described in this type of situation usually train like crazy is simple and realistic, because they want to guarantee their SURVIVAL. crazy is to know that if you are in such a dangerous world and do nothing to try to have ways to react if something goes wrong, even more if you receive gifts as a body that has no growth limits, we as a highly adaptable race are capable you can believe in changing from the lazy to the fighters, the excuse is stupid that just because the training is difficult you give up, maybe that in a peaceful world or in a situation that is not in danger focuses on something reasonable, but in a world that can literally screw with you and those you like to simply continue a restful life would be idiotic.

You are right. MC was stupid. Even though he came to the One Piece he didn't change his mentality from the earth, happy and peaceful environment of village also helped in this. Even though he knew dangers, he ignored them, He thought he could spend his whole life peacefully in village. This makes MC stupid to the extreme. But that's how I wanted present MC to the readers. MC who is stupid, lazy, scum, etc.

dukroger:Honestly it was better for him to kill himself, because if you know you are in a ****ed up world in which everything can harm you and those you like, and you know what strength is everything, the person will still want to lead a lazy life as they had in Earth? this is the definition of madness or stupidity, I’ve seen people in real life who had to force themselves into situations to survive because they knew it was their only option to survive, now a human being who gives up training just because he was worried when he was in earth and decides to give up becomes very dumb, if the person didn’t know the situation in the world I could even understand, but knowing and still choosing this decision is just stupid, even if he wants to become a bar owner he should have the strength to guarantee his life and those he likes, there's no excuse for that, maybe a negative attitude in the first days, but after a week or a little more it was time for him to prepare for the worst, that's why I think the situation is so unrealistic.

On the earth MC was just a lazy otaku, never exercised, knew nothing of pain. Even though he knew he was in the One Piece world, his village was very peaceful, to him it felt like he just came from city to countryside. Even though he had [Limitless], it wasn’t easy to activate, you truly have to go beyond your limits to activate it. For a guy like lazy MC, he truly needed wake up call to go beyond his limits. As what he knew of dangers of One Piece world was from manga, he never experienced anything. One Piece was just excellent story to him. Before the pirate incident. It wasn’t long since he came to One Piece world, he wasn’t truly attached to his new mother, Nejiko. Only during pirate incident he got to know how much she cared for him. That incident was true wake up call for him. Above two things are the main reasons, that many don’t like my novel. I think everybody knows how to make standard likable MC, who just cares for everyone, saves everyone, and trains very hard for even little setbacks. But I wanted to try something different, in his origin story I wanted MC to be very unlikable, only after certain incident who would change himself. Most of us are similar to this MC. All of us have so much potential, but how much have we truly used it? We don’t tap into our true potential unless something happens. Every world has its own power system. For our world true power is Money and Authority. How many of us are truly trying to be a Billionaire or the President of country? Anyway thanks for the review. I really likes when someone gives detailed review to my novel.

I understand, I don't think it is very realistic, but considering that there are people who are kind of mentally ill or suffer from trauma syndromes, I will try to imagine the MC like that, but even so I still think that the part where he describes that he does not understand why the MCs other stories train a little bit of hypocrisy, he gave up with two days of training, that was his choice, and he paid dearly for it, but he still made fun of the face of those who in the same situation would act more rationally and training to guarantee survival is what irritated me a lot, even if he is mentally weak or a denialist of reality he shouldn't make fun of those who are not like him.

He wasn't making fun of them. He was just talking from his point of view, for him training was too difficult. So he couldn't imagine how others could endure through such tough training.
