then if they're elites why can't they understand the reason behind the mc's way of thinking. the mc might be dumb because of the lack of knowledge but I think those you refer to are way dumber than the mc. have you ever heard character development.

To develop a character you don't have to start by being dumb, that's taking the easy way out.
