It could be very good but I'm just tired of bashing fics. If you dislike some characters as an author I can understand but don't make it so obvious. I mean McGonagall owning 3 contracts (2 of them are pretty much obvious scam) and trying to cheat him is too much. Dumbledore weakening the magical England to keep his position as the strongest wizard is bull**** too, he is an old man and he is clearly not an idiot. You wrote smth like "humans are greedy". Yeah maybe, but then stop lowering their IQs for no reasons. It's like you are trying to make your MC appear as a clever kid by bashing clever characters. I could appreciate an evil Dumbledore/McGonagall if it was well written, but here it's just bashing. Otherwise, I guess the MC is not bad. Typical Mary Sue but at least he isn't a scum. A bit sad you didn't develop the muggle side ( Yknow he lived for 11 years but we don't know any characters aside from Sherry and his mother. We don't know his acquaintances, his school teachers, his karaté teacher, ...). His bloodline trait is interesting, his magical training a bit too smooth but that's not a real problem. Just my opinion, you can disagree.

いいねI mean i can get if you dislike the bashing, but that isn't a good reason to lower a rating for a novel (I also dislike the constant bashing of basically everyone, but the reasoning behind it makes sense even if I don't agree with it and there hasn't been any major plot holes so far). When you rate a novel, you might dislike a certain arc, or if there are fillers, or if the grammar is trash, but disliking it because of how a character is portrayed is like reviewing a movie poorly because the image in the poster doesn't suit your tastes. Personally, I read it, try to see it from their point of view (the author mentions a lot of stuff I didn't really consider in the beginning which makes me more open to the bashing, example: orphans, what happens to dead houses, why is there no notable/powerful muggleborn officials in the original series, etc) and then just enjoy the story even if I don't agree with it.

Why did my message go as a reply to democratis? Whatever, I deleted it. Qidian is glitchy. Anyways, bashing can be pretty distasteful.

NorthernWind:How many muggleborn students are there? Anyways, I keep seeing you around. Do you write on rrl?
He is saying that Fanfiction is pretty much writing how you would change canon. From OP wish-fulfilment to fanboy helping out canon MC, it is making changes to the original story for better or worse.
mememaster69:What are you on about?
The amount of ego you have to say that him disliking something in the story isn’t a real reason for him to not give it five stars is completely idiotic. If you actually bothered to think about what he said it’s not that bashing happened but that it wasn’t done right. So for your points like what happens to orphans from houses well several things they are either handed over to the closest kin they have or entrusted the most trustworthy individual. Take Harry Potter for example if Sirius wasn’t arrested and charged he would have been given to Sirius. As for no notable muggle wizards well they have an inherent disadvantage cause they learn later then pure and half bloods. That and I guess JK just didn’t think about such things.

No you are trying to make his statement better than it was. He’s talking about bashing and bashing alone. Everyone knows what fanfiction is and not many people have a problem with changes unless you start revamping literally everything then you should just make something instead of fanfiction.

Bashing means "Fierce criticism or opposition." To spend the time and effort changing the parts in someone else's story means you disagree (criticism) with how things played out. Bashing characters is just a more extreme version. Taking the MC's powers or girls because you think he is not worthy. Helping the MC because he is weak or made a mess of things. All kinds of various 'bashing' on the original story. Why do you think people hate it when it is exactly the same as canon? Of course, this is just my personal opinion. Most people think of bashing as tearing down characters they hate.

That is completely not what I needed. The dude said if you don’t like bashing then don’t read fanfiction. When the person who made the review wasn’t that he had a problem with bashing itself but how much there was and how excessive it got. What you did was take some simple statement and give it a hell of a lot more meaning then it initially held.

Lol, I actually agree with you slamming 'Democratis' because of the bashing not done correct thing. It's just when I saw 'sage7th' comment I couldn't hep but agree. Sure he probably thought what you pointed out, but my take was a bit broader. Probably because I have 2 fanfics myself. Then again, mine are pretty extreme character bashing as well! All in all, I mostly agree with you!

I can understand bashing my isssue is with two things when bashing starts take over the story and when it just doesn’t fit and is generally completely unnecessary for the story and hurts it more than anything else. Bashing tends to hurts stories fanfiction included cause it does something that not many writers care about right now which is called character growth.
