honestly gates are overrated. They are dangerous, require to much training and leave you weak and injured. Only useful if its one strong opponent or you will be dead if not saved.

That would be awful for the story, it will eventually get boring if he already beat the best year 1. I suggest author use this as a motivation for player like Tsuki who isn't really giving it their best and not training their hardest.
