You're not getting it, the scene was a "show not tell" moment, it was supposed to be her big time to shine on her own. Besides the bocchi here and the canon one are still basically the same except the one here is more dependent on the mc whereas the one in canon was dependent on her bandmates.

Firstly, the translation is quite well done. The story on the other hand leaves a fair bit to be desired, most of the characters have been portrayed accurately but the lore has been flipped completely, not to mention the harbingers arc was just painful. It's good as a basic genshin fic and can be considered top-tier but for someone really into the game's story and characters, it is the definition of wish-fulfillment.

The scene was particularly important because it showed her growth from freezing up in front of strangers to being able to perform confidently. When her string broke, the way she quickly managed to recover and ingeniously too was the perfect representation of how far she had come. Besides giving her a new guitar she's not used once is actually detrimental for her performance.
