A certain flow, a massive plot hole, or an author might make something out of it. I'll definitely do something about it at least.

It's not even the typical backstory, that acts like a flashback. It is quite literally an arc, that shows Dennis' time in Munchen and opens up a new path for the story. So that character is actually tied to the plot.
