While i cant really say anything about the rewrite, because only 2 Chapters are out, the old version was one of my, if not my favorite story and i would highly recommend to atleast try it out.

What i am wondering if he would have chosen mage, would have been every spell a seperate skill with its own rank to train or would he have gotten a branch of magic like a fire magic skill and could just use fire magic in the rank of this skill ?
