What's with the 'young master' attitude monologues when fighting enemies. Quote from MC *If you don't use your remaining time to make me happy during our battle, I'm afraid I'll continue to hunt down and kill all the other Magi* How bout stfu and just kill like you're told to. Auth tries so hard to make seem MC cold blooded but instead turns him into a 13 year old edge lord young master.
The flow of the story has too much fluff. Long winded explainations for things that doesn't build onto any plot/character development shouldn't take up half/whole chapters. I find myself skipping paragraphs often that are totally irrelevant. It feels like trying to hit the word count for an assignment. Try reading chapter 34 and 36 skipping over 35, you won't miss anything too important.
Skipping chapter 35 does absolutely nothing to the storyline/development. Skipping paragraphs is one thing, skipping an entire chapter is just kekw.
Currently at chapter 457. Enjoyed the read ignoring the occasional plot armour and inconsistencies. Unfortunately the small things do add up. I find it hard to believe that a 'tyrant' as the mc is so often portrayed as, not batting an eye at leveling a city and killling almost all it's inhabitants can be so easily 'taken advantage' of by the twink prince's flirting in front of his 4 wives and children. Random tech/production capabilities popping out of nowhere as if they grew on trees (maybe Oprah was handing out free tech upgrades). The behind the scene cast of the story almost fully ignored. Barely any metion of any internal security measures other than the one size fit all 'Royal Intelligence'. Perhaps the most controversial for this review would be the siscon aspect. The story does mention mc as being pragmatic. Hence he introduces polygamy with matrilineal marriages to gain a foothold for further expansion which makes sense. However when in chapter X he goes 'No, must break her (Henrietta) fantasise' and the next chaper he agrees to their relationship, that plot armor just deflected one hell of a nuke. P.s: Don't give me that not related by blood/'insert whatever reason' cow pie that may arise in the future. I wrote this base on the chapters I read up to where logic just committed sepuku.
Interesting take with the POV narrative but the 3+ chapters for the same scene is a huge bummer. Story starts of interesting with some genuine LOL moments. Unfortunately the story nose dives hard at around chapter 80-90. So hard to read through the cringe.
