Calling this a great book would be an understatement. I'm 22 chapters in and boy, is the word play heavenly. The plot slowly builds up, engulfing the reader's mind chapter by chapter as we approach the high point. In short it's a well crafted peice with intense story and excellent word play. I absolutely love it!.
Things just got a lot more interesting in just a few lines.
The devil hound and the thief is when you take a wonderful idea and give it an excellent execution. Saying that the devil hound and the thief is a great story would be an understatement, the writing style and the plot are unique but the coherence and consistency is the real charm here. Not once in the story was I ever bored. The story is fast-paced and MC is likeable and not generic, quite refreshing to be very honest. There is just one slight issue here; there are certain chapters which have pacing issues, though they might just be specific to me since I have read fast paced novels for most of my life. Other than that, it's a wonderful story.
The story starts with a beautiful example of in media res and what follows is truly captivating and marvelous. The initial chapters establishes the characters and plots like puzzle pieces, each fitting into one another. The traits and core aspects of the protagonists are well established. It's well paced and the premise just adds on it. All in all, a great story!
Okay, firstly this is some fantastic execution of plot. The first chapter is captivating and keeps the readers interest till the very end. All in all a great way to start the story. Now what I didn't like was confusing dialogue quotations and punctuation mistakes. Though as we progress further in the story these mistakes reduce in number so, I might be nitpicking here. Other than that the story is fantastic.
NeoNym system is giving a mundane idea, a creative and beautiful execution with a touch of confusion. The story tells the tale from various POVs, which in itself is unique. You won't see this sort of storytelling in other works. The POVs provide readers with insights about the characters' lives and thus it's one of my favourite things about the novel. However, it's also one of the things which sometimes results in a mediocre effect. The first chapter was kinda confusing for me but that's a subjective issue, what could definitely be pointed that at moments the story feels lack lustered. On one hand, you have this creative approach of POV storytelling. On the other, you feel it to be restrictive at moments. Other than that, it's a splendid book.
Marked is one of the hidden gems you rarely get the chance to read, but once you do, you realise how much of beast it is. The story is filled with lovely and likeable characters. The prologue was a bit hard for me to get a hold of, but after that I just lost myself in the story. The world building is impressive. The author has put a lot of thought into opening the world to the reader and planning interactions of characters with the world and other characters. Most of the interactions feel natural, though there were some which felt a little out of place, but that's just me nitpicking. The story has still a long way to go but for now, it's definitely worth a read. All the best! Keep Writing!
Sword devil also dual cultivates is an interesting concept given a fantastic execution. An excellent writing style, a lively protagonist, and a beautiful world further amplify the imagery, thus, making it a wonderful take on the genre. The story is fast-paced, keeping readers entertained till the very end. The only reason I didn't give this a perfect five is that the story is still in progress and I expect a lot more coming explaining various plot points. Overall, it is a wonderful story and readers should give this a chance
That's meant to be a part of another conversation that took place somewhere between two individuals, kind of like a background conversations. I would have italicized those but there was no option so I had to put them under stars.
There are phases of character development he goes through. He starts of as a normal 17-year-old with a blessed strategic prowess. He is resilient, optimistic and often considers ideal solutions to real world problems. He loves his father the most. Currently, he is a ruthless killing machine, he's manipulative and for the most of time tries to suppress his emotions (another voice inside his head). I hope this much is enough. You'll get a much better understanding of his character in further reading.
