I haven't had much of interaction with rotom in the games, except for the dex of course. I've recently played Sw/Sh and haven't caught a rotom yet lol. I dunno why but I think it's more of an everyday convenience Pokemon than an actual combat-oriented Pokemon.

I believe charm is a fairy type move, I think it was initially a Normal-type move but post generation vi it was made a fairy type.

Actually it's like this, say you keep redeeming items that havent been discovered or recovered from the rifts. Eventually you're gonna be found out since your Pokemon just keep getting more and more stronger at an alarming rate. Also you will have to use the items, someone is bound to see you or find out how you've been using the items etc.

Believe me no cultivation in this novel. I agree with you on the fact that cultivation and Pokemon don't mix well together, I mean you have battle pets why would you want to fight on your own!?

Indeed. I think this change came later on, first it was limited to leveling up Eevee near a moss rock, but I think in the later generations they introduced the leaf stone as a means to get a Leafeon.

Exactly as Narcox said. I had thought of nicknames, but the thing is it'll be difficult for the readers and the author(who has the memory of a goldfish) to keep up with the nicknames, after all he is gonna be completing the pokedex. Imagine having to remember over 700 Pokemon names...*shudders*

Don't worry I'm working on nerfing a few aspects of the system. Also he's made quite powerful enemies so....its gonna get tougher! I'm currently working on a fee aspects of training and normal life of the MC since a lot of people complained that he didn't get stronger but offended a lot of people...so please be patient.
