slow pace stories are not necessarily shitty. if done correctly, they can be entertaining. This feels a lot of deus ex machina. Whatever happens happens because the author wills it so. I don't doubt that the new threat will get Himiko when his full power isn't available to be used, possibly on his last day of waiting to make an intense battle with really high stakes, but it just feels a bit too lazy. provided, there was no else that could have been done to regain that tension, but even this short event will be just that. a short event. After that event ends and tension settles, there's very little that can happen to regain those stakes. Don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to give constructive criticism here. I like this nfanfic and your writing style author, but a lot of these problems could have been avoided with a simpler progression taking a longer amount of time between strength gains alongside proper planning. Regardless, I will read whatever happens next. Cheers~~
