Someone claiming to be his sister, punch to the gut, tiny samurai Toko, etc. Had he had a moment to collect himself, Cherry might have believed and, shortly after, killed him.

Why not use you're newly acquired mind stone powers to seal his psychic power? If you're worried about the reality/power stone combo undoing it, you can just shunt him into another universe temporarily.
