Sounds like the Esper is a criminal, and his evil nature literally shows in his inner self that Guides are able to see when theyre guiding? (I.e., like Guides can see a persons “soul”?) That would explain why guides who had similar experiences as Kellen only did so with kidnappers, bc those people are criminals/evil. And if this is true, would further show how big the problems at Guiding Center C are, considering they openly allowed a CRIMINAL to get guiding at their center. And either didn’t care or didn’t do enough to have a proper background check on this person. Also, since the young guide at the Center didnt have any adverse reactions from the guiding and seemed almost used to it, this hints that that hes probably gone through similar horrible experiences before. And/or that most of the Espers that go to the center for their “services” are not good people (which honestly doesn’t fully surprise me, considering the Espers that go there are actively just looking for s .ex. under the guise of ”needing higher level guiding” 😒).
