Technically, all the technique required for a fusion are equal power levels, SURE the fusion won't be that good if the dance isn't perfect. But I'm sure an imperfect fusion of ajax and Goku is still much better than them both on their lonesome (Though Ajax fights with multiform and strategy, maybe it would have some downsides.) But if they ever need a quick power boost in Super sayain that would be a perfect way to do it
