yep. we are prejudiced against darkness because we can't see very well or at all through it so it's more likely to hide danger, and then that prejudice influences us into calling stuff we think of as "bad" as "dark." for example, magic using human sacrifices is usually called "dark/black magic" in stories, instead of blood magic, contract magic, demon magic, etc options
