I came for the romance but all I got so far was painful humiliation. Becoming more biting every chapter, making me deeply ponder why I am still here.

Sigh~ How predictable. 😑 I should just relinquish my futile hope for MC to ever win a round. He'll just predictably fail and embarrass himself as usual. In every way. No matter what happens.

Why am I not surprised?

I find XH insufferable. If MC was someone else or if it was portrayed differently, XH might be cute or lovable, but like this, viewing it from our MC's perspective, XH only causes me to feel frustration and dislike. First he drugs him and is the one to blame for the inappropriate photos. But he doesn't take responsibility and even makes it seem like MC ows him a favor. He isn't even sorry that MC feels like he got run over due to whatever he did, nor for the trouble he caused MC, nor for constantly causing MC grief and trampling on his dignity. Speak not of feeling empathy, but he even causes MC to misunderstand that they slept together for his own amusement. And then, knowing that the other thinks they slept together he treats this intimacy as if nothing happened, further trampling on his emotions and dignity. Oh, and shall I add another strike for him taking advantage of MC and seeing him naked? In short, XH keeps hurting MC and trampling on his dignity. I really wish I could enjoy their chemistry and sexual tension but I just can't. I find all of this toxic and keep hoping MC would get together with the side lead instead. Don't get me wrong, MC has a lot of personality issues himself, but he is not playing with the feelings of others like ML. I just can't stand this scewed power balance in their relationship. It's too painful to read about.
