Dem logic over the last decade...
there were actually 2 things wrong with my previous post. 1st oxygen is not flammable and 2nd is, as you said, at 1 atm, 100% oxygen is potentially dangerous.
yep...
Even while pushing idiotic gender identity, the drug epidemic (largely supplied by china) and the pathetic excuse for a government that we currently have, our culture is far better than the rest.
green hat*
you deserve a bright and shiny green at for that question
I disagree with the premise that he owes her because she wanted to continue being his friend after they awakened and I definitely disagree with the statement that he was being a black hole prior to being pushed into [demigods forced vacation]. I'll start with the black hole thing. as it was written, at least from what I remember, he was quite aware of her feelings but didn't answer them due to an idiotic form of self preservation, highly irrational fear, and an ungodly amount of what seems like baseless pride to keep his both himself and his mother afloat. self preservation and fear because he would be targeted due to the difference in status. pride due to the fact that she offered to pay for his mother and he turned her down. as for the second, it's pretty ridiculous to expect someone, who never asked for your attention (if he had, or even taken any resources from her) this would be wildly different) to pay for it down the line. it makes the relationship far more transactional than what at least I expect romantic relationships to be. don't get me wrong, I think there were many, many ways he could have handled things better, including his apologies, but the explosive reaction he received, as well as several of her main issues, seemed illogical or overblown.
This book is the epitome of the "too much of a good thing" saying. The book starts off fantastic and keeps getting better. It is well written, character interactions are fun and entertaining and there is solid world building. The issue (imo) stems from the attempt to ensure that the women are allowed to shine, which in and of itself is awesome. This starts out very well, with the limitations placed on the Mc being logically thought out and well written. Unfortunately, these limitations are leaned into far too much, making the Mc seem almost fake and like an extra written in after the fact. After awhile, dialogue between characters becomes forced and contrived. Honestly, the issue probably seems as glaring as it does due to the high expectations brought on by the strong start. Overall, the writing quality is great, the plot line is great, and the only problem is a slight character deviation that snowballed into a bigger issue.
ah therapy, extremely useful in a small number of specific cases for an even smaller number of people. but is now touted as a cure all and get out of jail free (or early) card.
