Mexico is the abode of drug cartels, money is but a simple tool there. Surely you know what's happening there right? If you've watched Narcos you should know what I'm talking about. It isn't that I'm undermining special forces or whatnot but if all the local citizen/people are in cahoots with the druglords/cartels you are toast. You're basically a beacon when you step into their territories. . . Though I agree with you, this is simply a fic and the author had to do it or else Alex will just curb stomp anyone in his way. I am annoyed as you are xD
