You can read at your own risk. To be honest, the reason why I pushed through reading this was because the translation did really well here. However I am not a fan of the ML who is a bit chauvinist. The phrases, "He still did it with her even though she was having a very high fever" and something along the lines of "she still needs to prove herself" or something. The relatives are no good either. Her siblings sold her for $3k yuan to the ML. The ones who "supported" her says they agreed because he can support her through college well in fact they were in the era where the government provided subsides and the tuition was free. Well, I have not yet finished all the chapters available so I am not sure how this will pan out. But I really admire the translator here. kudos to you!

the novel focused on their relationship, the reltionship of the people around them and how they progressed. the FL in the novel was rarely at the scene. its seems like, that was a different story. nothing happened. She just showed up less than 10 times. And the ML didn't even remember her.

No, the FL of the novel and the wife is different. However, it will be mentioned in the novel as to why the guy finally gave-up on his wife. The ML actually didn't like the FL of the novel at first but she persevered and well you know how it is in the 70's and 80's where its not normal to not get married. I feel like, she was just the best option at that time.

The storyline is not new however I liked that the ML here really likes the girl and wasn't schemed upon like the others. ordering free on the app. I like it too. it has been my dream haha! raws pleeaaassseee!! MIL and FL didn't mistreat the FL too. and FL isnt a pushover.
