You are looking at this in such a strange way. As readers, of course it's natural for us to arrive at that conclusion but if you yourself were to, one day, suddenly see a piece of metal disappearing from your hands, it will not be so easy to abandon your worldviews in a heartbeat and arrive at that conclusion. On a side note: your first thought will be someone is pranking you or something of the like.
