mana is what you use to cast magic and mp (mana points) are the individual units of your mana..... if there was a stat to govern mana amount, other than intelligence, it would probably be called magic.

never said the sharingan wasn't overused. although the way you boiled down stuff is actually how all battle focused series work..... if you boil it down. so all of it is boring in that regard. I will say that someone working to cover weaknesses of their power isn't boring, which afaik is what's happening here. why does he need an artificial persistent weakness when there are normal weaknesses that people don't think of? if he gets to the point where he can use 100% with zero drawbacks, so what? it won't stop him from being killed through things like asphyxiation.
the problem is that you could argue that if a literal psycho who is hallucinating that they are saving you but is instead trying to kill you is the one you are facing, then it won't trigger which makes it nearly useless. so you have the choice of nearly useless or not even op....

it's honestly much more likely that he softly abdondoned his family with the excuse of an overseas transfer at work and he has a new wife and child over there while sending money to provide for his real wife and their son....
