The Pure Rose, Tainted By Blood
Alisa. That was the name my parents gave me, its supposed to mean something along the line of 'of great happiness.'
I think they named the wrong the person.
I loved my family to the point where i could sacrifice myself for them. That's exactly what i done, time and time again.
The adopted daughter, kind, innocent, happy.
At least that's what everyone saw.
The real adopted daughter, cruel, vicious, scheming.
I've saved my family before, got blamed for causing trouble. Saved them a second time, got framed for causing it. The Nth time, they gave me the coldest looks that i could never erase from my mind.
When i was 23, me and my adopted sister were both kidnapped. The kidnappers agreed to let us go as long as the my father, mother and older brother each paid 10 million.
They did so without blinking and i started to feel hope again, maybe this time, they could love me back, i could go back to the times i would joke around with them, laugh with them.
Do you know what one of my friends once told me?
"Alisa, don't ever hope. It's a dangerous thing. It can help you achieve great things. But it can also destroy a person. And most of the times it's the latter."
I finally understand what he meant.
The kidnappers changed their minds at the last minute.
They handed each of my family members a dagger.
They said they can only choose one daughter and they have to kill the other.
I looked at my family with hope shining in my eyes. But they only reflected my family members cold gazes as they stepped towards me.
First my brother stabbed my shoulder. My father stabbed my stomach, and lastly my mother. The one who gave birth to me, showed me the most care, the most love, stabbed my heart.
As i lay on the ground, i could feel myself breaking from the inside.
A single white rose lay next to me.
I heard it means strong hope- for me, hope no longer exists.
Innocence- my teenage years that were supposed to be innocent and happy were sad and depressing.
Love- an emotion i no longer feel.
And slowly, that pure white rose was tainted in my blood.
