Why I (don't) regret looking for the dragon's eyes

Prince Arthur Aethersworn of Tashran knows his place: powerless, caged by tradition, and haunted by his lack of magic in a family brimming with it. Under his father’s impassive yet critical eye, he’s forced into training for a throne he can never claim without true power. Just as he’s about to resign to a bleak fate, a mysterious figure with ties to forbidden magic offers Arthur a choice: break free and seek the fabled Dragon's Eyes, or remain bound by royal duty. On this quest, he risks everything: his loyalties, family ties, and deepest beliefs. As he uncovers hidden powers, he faces powerful forces determined to prevent him from changing his destiny. Embark on Arthur's journey, an adventure where casting aside one’s humanity becomes a path, not a barrier to untold power.

Hollow anger

A roar of despair echoed through the mine.

Arthur bent over the mage's body before grabbing her neck and strangling her with all his might. He banged her head on the rocky ground as he tried to catch his breath.

There was no light coming from the entrance, not a sound, but he could see perfectly, as in the distorted cellar. He unleashed his anger, crippled by this thing running under his skin. A few threads of drool were coming out of his mouth as he screamed. The miners who shared the tunnel with him were also descending into a form of madness.

He had no idea how long his relentlessness lasted. But his throat was dry and Lara no longer looked like Lara.

He began to tremble before crouching against a wall, unable to control his crisis.

Scorn could only think of one thing. It was a good thing Arthur didn't have a mageroot anymore because it would have destroyed his body and his chances of survival.
