Hao Xing becomes an adventurer

Hao Xing arrives at the building he saw earlier, it wall a story taller than the surrounding buildings, with a large door big enough for a bear to fit through. As Hao Xing he took a deep breath before going in. As he entered he saw 8 tables, 4 on the left and 4 on the right, symmetrical staircases leading to an upper floor with a balcony to overlook the bottom floor. In the centre were two desks, on with the label 'inquires' and the other 'quests' which had a much fuller line of many people, from demi human to humans who were clad in armour, in robes holding a staff or just in poor leather armour with a short sword. He lined up in the 'inquires section where only 3 people were ahead of him.

After 10 minutes, it was finally his turn, the receptionist was a young handsome man with medium-short black hair all scruffy yet in a neat manner, he had sparkling green eyes a shade lighter than lime, with peach skin, slightly tanned. The man then asked "I am Viktor, how may I be of service?"

"I would like to register as an adventurer." Hao Xing replied.

"Oh~" Viktor said now observing Hao Xing, to which he then continued to say "Occupation?"

"Merchant." Hao Xing said bluntly.

"Would it not be better to register with the merchant guild then?" Viktor asked curiously.

"No, I wish to be an adventurer." Hao Xing answered firmly.

Viktor then continued to question Hao Xing to which he summarised, "So you're Hao Xing, age 16 and a merchant."

"Correct." Hao Xing responded.

"In that case place your hand on this orb." Viktor commanded as he pulled out a small orb. Hao Xing then placed his hand on it to which Viktor asks "Is everything you told me correct.

"Yes." Hao Xing answered.

"I see, your in the green. In that case, although I recommend you going to the merchant guild, it is not my place to reject you, therefore you can take the test." Viktor responded with a sigh as he though "Guess he will give up after the test anyway."

Then came forward someone in full iron armour who said "Follow me I will bring you to the exam site." with a deep hoarse voice.

"Hm." Hao Xing acknowledged as he followed behind to which he was lead upstairs through a long corridor before arriving at a large bare field of just sandstone surrounded in a dome.

"We will hold the test here, you just need to make him yield or acknowledge you, I will also witness the test to ensure no one dies or is severely injured." The guard explained as he pointed to a man who wore light armour that looked like leather but was black and was instead made of scales, he held a short steel sword.

"Understood, when do we start?" Hao Xing asked.

"You will begin after you and Brieen get into your positions to which I will countdown from 3." The guard answered.

Hao Xing then walked into the red circle to which he then got into a basic boxing stance to which he moves his head side to side before doing a little jump as he then plants his feet firmly, slightly bent knees and a conventional boxing guard. "Ready." he said afterwards.

The person opposite done something similar for his stance but instead of boxing it was kendo, with both hands firmly gripping his short sword. "Ready." The Brieen also said.

The guard then counted "3, 2, 1, Fight!"

With that Hao Xing smirked taunting Brieen. Brieen then rushed forward as he raised his sword high in the air before slashing down, with that Hao Xing merely dodged a millimetre to sideways. To which Hao Xing taunts "Too slow."

"Why you...." Brieen said as he released his aura, a bright sea blue like wave of energy enveloped his sword as her then turned to slash as Hao Xing once again.

Hao Xing this time instead of dodging, he simply hooked the centre of the dull side of the blade causing it to shatter and Brieen's aura to dissipate , Hao Xing then took a step forward as his hand then flashed for a second reappearing hitting Brieen's face.

"Arggg." Brieen shouted in agony as his nose began to pour with blood.

"Oh did that hurt, haha~ I'm just starting to have fun." Hao Xing said as he then continued to punch Brieen with a flurry of punches too fast for even the guard to see.

Hao Xing then came to a stop to see that Brieen had been knocked out. Brieen then fell flat onto the floor. "Are you not going to end it, or do I need to kill him?" Hao Xing asked, pointing to the guard.

"F-FINISH! Winner, Hao Xing." The guard announced in disbelief.

"Now what?" Hao Xing asked the guard.

"Y-you are now an F-rank adventurer, you just need to go back to Viktor to receive your guild card.

"I see." Hao Xing said as he then headed back out of the arena leaving a bloodied up Brieen, and a shocked guard. He then went to Viktor and said I need my guild card.

"Y-you won?!" Viktor exclaimed surprised.

"Yes, now my guild card." Hao Xing replied still waiting for his card.

"O-oh of course." Viktor said as he went to the back and brought back a steel card which was blank. To which he continued "Just fill in your information and put some of your magic into it and then it will put your name and rank."

Hao Xing although he did not know how to use magic, he was already a master at controlling Qi and Aura so he merely tried to flow the energy he could control least inside his body which was mana. With that the card showed;

"Do you wish for me to explain the guild system?" Viktor asked.

"Yes." Hao Xing replied.

Viktor then continued to explain the system [can be seen in the 'Notes' chapter] as well as the benefits of said ranks, then how to rank up.

Hao Xing then said "I see, but how do you keep track of how people do quests?"

"The adventurers' guild are the only ones who can modify your card, the branch in which have given you a quest will only say a mission is completed once you report back to them and will then use mana to record it onto your card. Of course for occupations such as Knights and Martial artist the guild would issue a different card to yours that only reacts to rather Aura or Qi. And for escort missions, the branch guild will notify your destinations branch guild in which you will report to them and they will then mark if you have failed or completed the issued quest." Viktor explained in detail.

"What is this criminal status?" Hao Xing asked curiously.

"It records any crimes the guild find you guilty of, but of course if a crime is committed in self defence it will not be registered." Viktor responded.

"Understood, can I immediately take quests?" Hao Xing questioned.

"Yes." Viktor answered.

Hao Xing then walked over to the task board on the right side in which was crowded with many adventurers....
