概要

In a galaxy where ancient secrets lie hidden among the stars, a young wanderer named Sora stumbles upon an extraordinary spaceship unlike anything he has ever seen. Powered by living, sentient creatures that form its very core, the ship binds itself to Sora, making him its accidental captain. As Sora grapples with his new role, he uncovers a chilling truth: the ship carries fragments of the universe’s origin, a mystery sought by powerful cosmic forces willing to destroy worlds to claim it. Sora must navigate through hostile star systems, unravel the enigma of the living ship, and confront adversaries both alien and human. Along the way, he forges alliances with unexpected companions—a rebellious star pilot, a historian of forgotten galaxies, and a being born from stardust itself. But the deeper Sora delves into the ship’s secrets, the more he realizes that his connection to it is no accident. The fate of the cosmos teeters on the edge, and Sora must decide: will he protect the ship’s mysteries, or use its power to rewrite the stars? Voyage Among the Living Stars is a breathtaking tale of discovery, responsibility, and the boundless wonder of the universe—a story where every star hides a secret, and every voyage tests the limits of what it means to be human. .................................................. Chapter 1The Whispering Hull

**

---

The void of space stretched endlessly, a canvas of eternal black scattered with distant, indifferent stars. *Sora* wiped his brow, the sweat dripping into his eyes. His repair tools buzzed faintly in the silence of his cramped maintenance pod. Freelancing on forgotten outposts and scavenging derelict ships was not glamorous, but it kept him alive.

Today, however, something was different.

He'd been tracking an unusual signal for weeks, one that defied the usual patterns of interstellar communications. It wasn't mechanical—it was organic. The frequency pulsed like a heartbeat, faint but insistent, as if it were alive and calling for him.

Now, his pod hovered in the shadow of a massive structure, half-submerged in the asteroid field surrounding a dying star. The ship—if it could even be called that—was unlike anything he had ever seen. Its hull shimmered faintly, a mix of metal and something else, something alive.

Cautiously, Sora docked his pod. The airlock hissed as it connected, and his boot touched the strange surface of the ship's entrance. It was warm.

"That's... not normal," he muttered, his voice muffled in his helmet. The warmth spread through his suit, almost as if the ship itself were trying to read him. He hesitated before taking another step forward.

Inside, the ship was silent, but it wasn't empty. Its corridors seemed to shift as he moved, the walls pulsating gently. He ran his fingers across them and recoiled. The material was soft, like skin.

"What kind of nightmare tech is this?"

The ship answered.

A low hum resonated through the hallway, vibrating the air around him. The hum transformed into whispers, words he couldn't understand but somehow felt.

"Who's there?" he demanded, pulling out his plasma cutter, a weapon that doubled as a tool. The whispers grew louder, converging into a single, coherent voice.

*"You are... the one."*

"The one for what?" he snapped, turning in circles, searching for the source of the voice.

The walls in front of him parted like a curtain, revealing a chamber bathed in soft, golden light. At its center was a massive, crystalline structure, pulsing gently like a living heart. It was suspended in the air, supported by thin, sinewy tendrils connected to the walls.

As Sora stepped closer, the ship's voice returned, clearer this time.

*"I have waited... eons. You have come."*

"Waited for me? You've got the wrong guy."

The tendrils of the crystalline structure extended towards him, not threateningly, but as if reaching for something only he could provide.

Instinctively, he raised his plasma cutter. "Back off!"

But the tendrils stopped inches from his chest. A sudden warmth flooded through him, and memories not his own surged into his mind. He saw galaxies being born and dying, stars collapsing into black holes, and civilizations reaching for the stars only to be consumed by their own ambition.

*"I am the key,"* the voice whispered inside his head now, bypassing his ears. *"And you are the lock."*

Before Sora could respond, the ship trembled violently. The light in the chamber flickered, and an alarm—not mechanical, but a guttural, mournful wail—echoed through the corridors.

"What's happening?" he shouted.

The ship's voice turned urgent. *"They have found me. You must protect the core."*

"Who's 'they'?"

The ship didn't answer. Instead, the crystalline core glowed brighter, and the tendrils extended further, wrapping gently around his arms and pulling him closer.

"No! Let go of me!" Sora struggled, but the ship held firm. The warmth he'd felt earlier intensified, turning into a searing heat. Then, just as suddenly, the pain stopped, replaced by a strange sense of unity. He could feel the ship now—not just its walls or core, but its very essence.

He was part of it, and it was part of him.

The whispers returned, but this time they weren't the ship's voice—they were outside. Ships—many of them—were closing in, their dark, predatory silhouettes visible through the chamber's translucent walls.

The ship's voice boomed within him. *"You are the captain now. Fly."*

"I don't even know how to—"

Before he could finish, the ship responded. Controls appeared before him, not physical, but in his mind. He could feel the engines hum, the weapons charge, and the ship's living systems all awaiting his command.

The intruders opened fire. Sora reacted instinctively, and the ship responded to his thoughts. It twisted and turned with a grace he could never have imagined, evading the enemy fire effortlessly.

Adrenaline surged through him as he activated the ship's defenses, beams of pure energy lashing out and disabling two of the attackers. But there were too many.

*"Engage the gate,"* the ship urged.

"What gate?"

A new set of controls appeared in his mind, and without fully understanding, he activated them. The ship trembled as space itself began to warp around it. A glowing portal, swirling with impossible colors, materialized ahead.

The pursuing ships fired again, their shots grazing the hull.

"Here goes nothing," Sora muttered, gripping imaginary controls. With a final burst of speed, the ship plunged into the portal, leaving the attackers behind.

---

Sora gasped as the ship emerged into calm, uncharted space. He slumped against the wall, his heart pounding.

"What... just happened?" he whispered.

The ship's voice, now softer, replied. *"Welcome, captain. The voyage has just begun."*
