~Anna~

After the movie ended now I was with Liam riding me home I was nervous so I didn't utter a word. I was thinking of what was going it happen to me. No what was happening to my room right now? I started to picture how my room might be looking messy right now.

"Getting bored in that mind of yours?" Liam mumbled but loud enough to hear me.

"Huh?" I say snapping out of my thoughts.

"What are you thinking about?" He asks me as I stare at him absently minded.

"Nothin" I reply shaking the thoughts out of my head.

"You going to the snow ballet dancing at your school?" He asks me as I focus my eyes on the road well I was the sucker I guess.

Not sociable in the community, yeah I was weird. Like a wild flower if one might say so I won't argue. Never been out, never went to parties, never dated, never made out never even got a single kiss in my whole life and next year I was getting eighteen. yeah I was single since birth.

"Nope" I murmur but enough for him to hear me.

"No? Why?" He asks I was afraid that he would ask me about this. Luckily he parked that's when I realized that we were where I consider as home. Where I grew up. Where all my childhood memories were created. And the worst... where I was dumped by my mother. I got out of the car ignoring his question as I made my way to the front door.

"Anna" he called out leaning on his car as turned around and looked at him

"Yes" I reply growing anxious I wanted to go inside to meet my upside down world.

"you're not going to say... thanks?" He asks me shrugging his broad shoulders. Oh God! He was stunning in every single way he looked like a Greek god. How can someone be this perfect?

"Oh...yeah! Thanks for the ride" I reply as I smile at him coming back to reality all the greek gods images disappearing, before he could say anything else I was already shutting the door behind me.

It was no time for jokes right now, the house was dead silent and the only sound in the house came from the kitchen. And there she stood as if waiting for me. an yeah she actually...was.

The moment I entered the kitchen a mug missed my head. Yup we're back to talking about the crazy sassy Beth. here comes Jackie Chan's fighting scenes, breaking everything.

"Can we not for God's sake not fight over this?" I ask her as a vase is thrown at me but I manage to catch it. This is Aunty's favorite vase and in case it breaks then no one on this world will survive I guess.

"Look he's only a boy... Just understand me I wasn't trying to seduce him... Oh God!" I grunt in pain as a flying plate catches my eye. Blurring my sight.

"just a boy huh? or just my mate?" she asks as a glass misses my head. did she say freaking mate? whoa but I had no time to ask.

This was already something else. I ducked as a pan feel behind me and stood for a moment recovering from the pain that I felt when the flying plate caught my sight. Before I could notice something, a strong paw connected with my back leaving a wound on my back.

"Argh.. oh man" I screamed out in pain before staggering forward and turning around to see a Savage smirk on her lips. She had half shifted and only her paws were out with claws and her face covered with that grey-blue fur and her wolf's eyes were those yellow.

She had that thing that I never would get. Something I envied. Something I feared I would never ever get. Something that I lacked and made me an abomination from the society.

"Fine let's have it the way you like it bitch.." I reply my blood boiling hard and I could feel my adrenaline rising and my blood was singing in my veins.

She used her full speed wolf to get to me with a strong clenched fist but I caught it before she could connect it to my ribs. I quickly violently turn her wrist fracturing as she let out a wailing cry of pain.

She managed to get free from me  as she used her utmost strength to push me forcefully and I travelled like what felt like forever until I hit the wall in the living room fracturing my bone.

"Oh my Shit! Another week to heal" I grunted as I placed my hand against my dear back that has been fractured. she smirked as she turned her wrist around and a cracking noise was heard, well lucky her for having a wolf to easily heal and... Cursed me who couldn't easily heal like that, but for the fact that I was not a total human being it'd at least take three days to heal.

Inhaling and exhaling I stood up as she aimed at me and with that we got into a fight again, after what felt like forever but at least like 30 minutes of fighting we heard a knock in the door.

"Mom?"

"Aunt?"

Me and Beth both said in unison she let go of the tight grip she held around my head. We were both panting and terrified to what was going to happen to us next as we lifelessly looked at the door gulping nervously thinking of the punishment we were going to be given.

"we're in this together" Beth says gripping hand and I just nod.

Maybe we were now going to be sent to an isolated island with a lot of monsters to fight against or to turn us into their tasty snacks. I swallowed the idea down as a flash of a hungry monster opening it's ugly big sloppy mouth to eat me...

The door slowly opened as we both froze on our spot until it revealed Liam with a huge iron cane as he slowly peeped his head through the door as if he was hiding from something or he was tip topping to catch a thief.

"Seriously?"

"Oh God"

Both me and Beth said in unison with a sigh of relief that washed over our faces as Beth's hand slid away making him turn his attention to us lowering his cane. Thank God it wasn't grace or... Who knows what would be happening now?

"Are you okay?" He asks worriedly rushing over to us.

"Yeah, why wouldn't we be?" I ask him knitting my brows together pretending as if I sensed no trouble.

"I thought I heard something like a fight... Struggling... Noise of things breaking and I-I thought something was wrong, maybe a thief broke in..." He paused as he looked around the room at the mess we've made.

Beth and I did the same as we followed his gaze across the house scanning the room as we exchanged that 'mom is gonna kill us' look.

"Wait if you weren't attacked what happened here?" He finally asks.

"Uhm.." I say as I took steps back thinking of which direction is the best to run to.

"We were looking for something important" Beth lies. Yeah she got that bitchy mouth to lie

"Something important?" He asks as Beth finally looks at me for some kinda help as I heard his wolf purring. seriously, she has never purred. ugh mates. then it again hit me. they were truly mate. my heart felt like shattering to million pieces. did Liam know what we were and what we belonged to?

" Yeah... A...a cat?" I say uncertainty clear in my voice as Beth rolls her eyes but Liam just chuckles. As if my grand parents still love me suddenly a cat mews drawing our attention.

"Yeah that's the one" Beth points at it as I sigh with relief.

" Uh... Isn't that Bennett's cat?" He asks as he moves carefully closer to get the cat.

" Well... He uhm.." I stammer at loss of words

"He asked us to keep it for him before we went to the movie" Beth confidently reply sitting in the couch as Liam was busy stroking the little kitten which seemed to like him. well she was a female  cat why wouldn't it love him? even the female dogs loved him.

Suddenly a pang of pain hit me from the wounds and I had bite my tongue to stifle the noise... I got to get out of here.

I quickly exited the room to my bedroom unnoticed, I took a warm shower in the bath tub filled with some herbs for healing my wound.

I chewed on my lower lips as the water with herbs touched my skin.

After a shower I went back to my room as I heard some voices from Beth's room... I although hate to admit it but I still love Liam no matter what he is to Beth... but maybe I should stop if they're really mates. although my heart didn't want to believe it.

I took this time to clean up all the mess before Grace came back, after a tiresome time I was finally done and I laid on my bed on my back thinking of those little small things, and before I knew I was drifting into a peaceful sleep as if nothing ever happened.

The next days were too smooth and so did the week go by until Ben my uncle and Grace completely freaked out when Beth announced that Liam was her mate although he was a human.

At first it didn't make a sense to them I thought it only happened in romance stories about werewolves that I always just read but yeah it happens in real life.

"There's no way it's true" grace comments not getting it. Yeah I was hurt at the moment but also happy for her. maybe she won't be like me to survive alone without a mate.

"How can it be true?" Grace asks completely surprised by the daring truth.

Now I understood why she was so protective about him and easily jealous whenever I or any other girl was around him.

"This is a gag, right?" Her father asked who had been silent all along.

" Mom, dad, Anna I'm not joking, I feel the bond. I do feel it and he also does he's adicted to me as I am, his scent is so strong like no any other scent... He's... It's real" she says trying to convince all if us. I just nod getting it before helping her parents to convince them.

"Thanks Anna that you made them understand" she says hugging me after they were all gone.

" Welcome" I reply before I realized something, Beth was hugging me... For the first time in a few years

"Wait are you just hugging me?" I ask her as she suddenly lets go of me.

" No" she says looking away "did not" she replies walking away as I shoot her a blissful smile.

If Liam is a human being with no wolf and yet still gets a mate, maybe I might have a mate too. I thought bitterly but I didn't want to have any expectations, cause they make you get disappointments when what you expected turns out wrong.

After the long discussion of the new mate, it was just another week later me and Beth were really getting closer because... I don't know why but I enjoyed it. Liam oftentimes came to our house and Ben treated him like a son of his own, told him about our pack and werewolves. And Beth wouldn't stop giggling and his wolf was always whimpering or purring.

It was just a random Friday as I came back from school to find Beth waiting for me at the door. She had skipped her classes today due to her reasons... But was she waiting for me or someone else?

"The witch is here" she said as I caught up before I even said hi or anything else. Her voice nearly squeaky, and her eyes filled with panic.

No, there's no way my mother was here. After dumping me here why would she come back? I looked at the door that usually opens to reveal a comfortable, warm, blissful, happy home but knowing that she was some where in that house I knew that now it led to a hell hole... I knew why she was here and I didn't like it. I wasn't going back with a mother who threw me like a piece of trash. who was she to even be called my mother.

"I... I don't think.. I'm ready" I said chocking on my words.

"you're stronger than your words" Beth replies. it takes all of me to open the door, and one step inside makes me realise I'm taking steps that are changing my life forever. I don't know whether positively or negatively.
