Universal War: Prince of Darkness

Those who embrace the darkness find another way to see the light.

Emptiness.

Emptiness defined his days, everything was so monotonous and boring. Living was more a form of emotional self-harm than anything else, and that was how Alex saw life.

"Get out of the way, weirdo," a voice full of scorn said. Looking back, Alex saw a group of three boys and two girls, the boys looking at him with mocking eyes and the girls with disdain.

"The hallway has plenty of space," Alex replied before giving them a look and walking towards his classroom.

"What did you say, you piece of shit?" said the biggest of the boys in a loud voice, reaching out to grab Alex's shoulder.

"Stop right there, Calson. What do you think you're doing to your classmate?" shouted a voice from the other side of the hallway, causing the overgrown-for-his-age boy to pull his arm back.

"Tsk, saved by a teacher again. One of these days, I'll get you, bitch," Calson said before brushing against Alex's shoulder and moving on with his friends.

"Are you okay, Alex?" the concerned teacher asked. Alex turned around and there was Mrs. Swan, a woman in her 30s who was definitely in good shape with her curly hair and tan skin, playing her role as one of the most beautiful women in the city.

"I'm fine," Alex replied before turning and moving on.

But Mrs. Swan could see his hand clenched in a fist, so tightly that it was shaking.

"Alex, you know you can talk to me, right? You don't have to keep everything to yourself," she tried to talk to him again. But all she received was silence as he walked away.

 'These idiots are all the same, they all find pleasure in such a meaningless life. In a sick quest to feel pleasure while their limited lives last,'Alex thought as he walked down the hallway.

 The same hallway that had served as his personal hell for the last three years of his life. The hallway that had made Alex realize that life was nothing but pain and superficial joys.

"I want all of this to end soon," Alex sighed, not knowing if he was talking about school or his own life.

As he walked lost in thought, he began to feel a tremor and all the students around him began to scream. But since it was already afternoon, there weren't many students in the school, but enough to cause a small chaos because of the earthquake.

"Everyone stay calm, everything will be okay, please follow the emergency instructions!" shouted Mrs. Swan, trying to calm the students down.

But suddenly the earthquake stopped and a screen appeared in front of everyone, including Alex, who had been standing in the same place since the beginning of the earthquake.

When the screen appeared, he almost automatically began to read the information, even though he didn't know the language, he seemed to understand the meaning of such symbols automatically.

When he finished reading, Alex wasn't disoriented or lost in thought, but rather began taking action. "Status," said Alex with a resolute voice, as if he knew what was going to happen. And in front of his eyes appeared another screen.

Looking at his data, Alex saw that only his speed and intelligence were slightly higher than average, making him think that he was nothing special, but neither was anyone else.

 When he finished reading his data, he heard a loud scream, not one of fear as before, but now of despair, the cry of an animal fighting for its life.

 When he raised his head, he saw at the end of the hallway a creature resembling a goblin from games. Small, 1.20 meters tall, green skin, sharp teeth protruding from its mouth, and holding a small dagger that seemed to be made of stone.

And in front of this creature was Calson, crawling with blood staining his clothes and a large cut on his throat. He screamed for help like a pig before being slaughtered, and looking closely, that's what he was because a second later, the creature walked to the side of Calson and plunged the knife into his neck as if it was nothing.

 Seeing this scene, everyone in the corridor began to scream and run as if they had seen the bogeyman himself.

But Alex stood still where he was, observing the beast run towards another student and stab him in the thigh, and then, as the student fell to the ground, the creature stabbed his neck, taking each action in a beastly manner, as if killing was nothing more than its most basic instinct.

 Seeing all of this, Alex was not frightened or ran away but rather smiled.

"He seems quite slow and weak, to be honest, but he's using the fear of these idiots against them," Alex said as he slowly approached the unknown creature.

"Grrrrrhhhhhhh"

 Sensing Alex's approach, the beast began to growl at him while directing a brutal and bloody gaze at Alex, but seeing that Alex continued his approach calmly and without fear, it did not attack immediately.
