TTW Chapter 104: Grisha's Madness (Ps Bonus Chapter)

"Eren, all of this is for your own good. You'll understand later."

A sharp glint flashed in Grisha's eyes. He knew he couldn't waste any more time.

That man, Lin Yi, was dangerous. Although there was no concrete evidence, his instincts told him that he had become a target.

That's why he had waited for days, searching for an opportunity to approach Eren without Lin Yi's knowing.

Watching Eren struggle, Grisha didn't want to waste time reasoning with his young son. He delivered a powerful blow to the back of Eren's head, causing him to lose consciousness.

Eren instantly fell into a stupor.

"Don't blame me. I'm doing all of this for your sake."

Breathing heavily, Grisha's trembling right hand held a syringe.

In order to inherit the power of the Titans, there was only one way: injecting a specially crafted spinal fluid to transform into a Dumb Titan, similar to the creatures beyond the wall.

Then, the Dumb Titan would need to consume one of the "Intelligent Titan" to obtain the power of the Nine Titans, completing the inheritance.

Grisha himself had already inherited the power of the Attack Titan. Over this period of time, he had killed most of the Reiss family descendants and consumed the holder of the Founding Titan.

However, regardless of the Titan power one possessed, they were bound by the unchangeable law of having only thirteen years to live.

Grisha's time was running out. He didn't have the opportunity to continue executing his plan and mission. That's why he had placed his hopes on his son.

"Eren, remember that you must reclaim the Maria Wall and go underground. There's something very important down there. Remember my words."

Grisha raised the syringe high.

"Swoosh."

"He's already unconscious. You're saying so much, he probably can't hear you," Lin Yi intervened, appearing at an opportune moment. He held a black umbrella in one hand and a white-gold edged suitcase in the other.

Despite the pouring rain, he remained immaculate, untouched by a speck of dirt.

Compared to the current Grisha, they seemed like two individuals from different worlds.

"Whoever you are, no one can stop me now."

Grisha wasn't surprised by Lin Yi's arrival, but he hadn't expected it to happen so quickly. He didn't hesitate, aiming the syringe at Eren's neck.

"Bang!"

A flash of lightning-like speed crossed in front of Grisha, making him wonder if Lin Yi had come armed with a gun.

In the next moment, a sharp pain shot through his wrist, and the syringe slipped from his hand and flew away.

Lin Yi stepped forward, smoothly catching the falling syringe.

"So this is Titan spinal fluid, huh."

Lin Yi thought to himself; he wasn't interested in this power, but perhaps there were some new discoveries to be made.

Of course, he himself couldn't carry out such an act.

He intended to take the spinal fluid to the Ghoul world and give it to Dr. A and his lover, Nishino for research; these two were well-versed in genetics.

"Give it back to me!"

Grisha, ignoring the intense pain in his hand, shouted with red eyes.

Without this spinal fluid, he couldn't turn Eren into a Titan, and Eren couldn't consume him. His power wouldn't be passed on.

Grisha had spent nearly ten years undercover within the walls, all for this day. He couldn't allow anyone to disrupt his plan.

"Give it back to me!"

Grisha shouted again.

"What if I say... no?"

Lin Yi asked with a smirk.

"You'll regret it."

Grisha, not considering the consequences, suddenly bit into his own arm with a ferocious look.

Seeing his fierce determination, it seemed as if he wouldn't relent until he tore a piece of flesh from himself. Blood splattered.

The temperature around them suddenly soared.

"Boom!"

A thunderous lightning strike slashed through the dark clouds, momentarily illuminating the surroundings.

The rainwater around them evaporated instantly, giving rise to a thick white mist.

"Bang!"

With a deafening roar, a massive hand broke through the mist. It effortlessly knocked down the trees obstructing Lin Yi's path.

Grisha had wanted to kill Lin Yi.

However, he had likely overestimated Lin Yi's danger. He couldn't have anticipated that this man was utterly unafraid of the Intelligent Titan.

"Boom!"

Grisha transformed into a Titan over ten meters tall. Although he towered above, he was momentarily dumbfounded; he couldn't find Lin Yi's figure.

Grisha's heart raced as he quickly turned around, only to see Lin Yi crouched on a tall tree. Lin Yi bent his legs and pushed off, launching himself at incredible speed.

The speed caught Grisha off guard.

In mid-air, Lin Yi triggered something in his suitcase. Jörmungandr's red aura illuminated the night sky, accompanied by scorching heat that evaporated rainwater instantly.

Grisha couldn't locate Lin Yi, but he could unmistakably sense the approaching threat. He instinctively covered the back of his neck.

"Swoosh!"

A flash of red light, followed by a spurt of blood. The Grisha's Titan arm fell from the sky, crashing into the ground and flattening trees like blades of grass.

If they were in the wild, and Grisha had access to the Founding Titan's power, Lin Yi might have been wary. After all, the countless Titans' army would require caution.

But here in Trost, Grisha didn't have that realization. If he had used the Titans sealed within the walls, he might have stood a chance against Lin Yi.

But he wouldn't resort to that. This battle was completely one-sided.

"Roar!"

The injured Grisha, clutching his wounded wrist, kept retreating, trampling trees like they were mere grass. Lin Yi stood his ground, inserting his blade's hilt into the ground. Heat and high temperature spread, causing the earth to crack open.

Rainwater evaporated, forming a white mist that obscured everything.

Despite the heavy rain, the temperature soared, turning the surroundings into a furnace.

Especially within Grisha's Titan, where the temperature was already high, he struggled to breathe.

"Let's end this."

Lin Yi didn't intend to waste time with Grisha. He gripped the sword's hilt and turned it, maximizing the power of Tatara.

From the cracks in the earth, scorching lava erupted, spreading toward the Titan's feet. With a deafening explosion, a column of fire shot into the sky.

The flames engulfed the Titan, burning it alive.

"Boom!"

A thunderous roar cut through the night sky, drowning out the Titan's agonized screams.

"Thud!"

After a while, the flames dissipated, revealing a hellish scene: charred trees and raging fires.

The Titan teetered and collapsed, covered in burns. Its muscles were charred black, like pieces of charcoal. With a final thud, it hit the ground, unable to move.

Lin Yi approached the Titan's nape step by step, holding Jörmungandr. Without hesitation, he thrust the sword forward.
