Chapter 19- The After Effects

As I stood before the crowd I watched them all look at me with a reverent look. These looks that appeared to treat me as if I was worth something to them made me sick. It reminded me of how people would treat me when they believed I was of some value to them. In a flash everything stopped however.

"Host congratulations on winning a major competition. Since this is your first competition the rewards are doubled. For winning the Battle Royal competition you gain 50 Pokepoints. The low amount of Pokepoints is due to the fact that all of the original Pokemon being entered were at the first stage. You also gain 20 Pokepoints from beating 2 Pokemon of a higher stage in one move showing that you outclassed them. By defeating 140 Pokemon single handedly while showing that you are superior you gain 140 Pokepoints. This means that from the previously saved 40 Pokepoints you now have a grand total of 250 Pokepoints. Do you wish to enter the shop while time is stopped?"

Seeing the message I couldn't help, but to scream at first when everything froze, but after a few quick moments I settled down. The system was powerful enough to reincarnate with me, and it could stop time itself. I wondered just why I had something so powerful with me. Why was I selected to be this way.

"Host the system chose you. I am not made by some higher being as I am a higher being. I am however a bit newer compared to some of the other higher beings. In fact I am only around ninety years old while the next youngest higher being is around three thousand years old. This means that you were chosen to help me study the human nature more closely as I am a bit younger. You were also chosen due to your purer soul that even with all the pains you have experienced is still one of the nicest."

I just stared at the message. All the stories of systems had made them out to be mean, heartless things. They were also supposed to be very secretive. This new take with a system that actually answered some of my more important questions left me in a good mood. "I am glad to be your research tool after all how many things are so open about these kind of things. On top of that you are even doing it for your own understanding of people. Another point is that who wouldn't try to help the one helping them."

Getting back to the message I looked into the shop looking through skills and abilities that I could use. Eventually after maybe what would of been a couple of hours of looking I finally came across an amazing Skill.

Lv.1-Fire Enhancing- This skill which can only be used once a battle will currently super charge an attack at no extra cost of aura by 50 percent for any fire Pokemon that you use it with. The unleash it's effects speak the chant below. "Ashes to ashes many fall down, but we have survived that trial and once more burn. Now show your bright light and blast off, for your fire is an unstoppable flame that must burn all." Any type of Aura the Pokemon is using will be converted to within the flames leaving different damaging effects for the enemies. This doesn't mean the regular Aura. The type of Aura mentioned is ones such as Vengeful Aura which will in turn leave scars of "Fear" on that Pokemon until it is fully healed. The scars of Fear cause a lowering in dexterity as well as a loss of time perception.

Seeing the skill I sighed in amazement and then looked at it's price. It was 200 Poke-points. At least I could still get other things if I got this one I thought to myself as I bought it. Now what should I spend my other 50 points on. Looking through the list I eventually decided to just upgrade Fire Mastery to version two and then three which emptied the rest of my Poke-points. Sighing in bliss I felt all the knowledge flow into me. I now knew many ways to strengthen ember and even certain moves like inferno. Even if the depth wasn't to deep I could feel the overall knowledge expand into almost every direction involving fire.

Fire Mastery 3- Allows the user to teach a Pokemon better in growing the strength of flame attacks. This will allow a 25 percent increase in learning speed of all things fire under the user.

This is what the ability now gave me. In that moment everything once more started up. No longer was time stopped. "I at this moment barely have any words to announce the honor in meeting a new Guardian Master. If you would so kindly step up here for a trophy and a small interview we would be honored. Smiling a fake smile me and Emblaze started walking from our own places towards the stadium/tower the man was on. Once we made it there we were lead up to the announcer by a few body guards.

Once we had made it to the top we dropped our synchronization and sighed tiredly. I couldn't help but to complain at my shortsightedness. I had shown greed and now the whole world would probably know my name. I had most likely also lost my last chance to gain true human friends as well I thought to myself as I stared the man in the eyes before giving a smile. Well I need to take care of formalities first before anything else.
