Chapter 19: Is Love Enough?
Gemma sighed nervously and debated walking away before straightening her spine and knocking on Max's door firmly. She exhaled and tried to calm herself as she heard him approach the other side of the door.
Max opened the door and just stared at Gemma for a moment. The two drank each other in silently. They hadn't seen or spoken to each other for nearly five days - the longest they had ever gone without contact. They had made sure to see or talk to each other every day since they'd started dating.
Gemma smiled at Max softly, feeling relieved when Max reciprocated with an unsure smile of his own. He was just relieved that Gemma had finally broken her silence and asked to come over.
The days following the fight had been hard for both Gemma and Max - their relationship had been such a big part of each of their lives for so long. Being apart and on bad terms had definitely taken a toll on each of them.
