Chapter One
You know how you wait for something for too long that when it's finally happening you start to feel like you're dreaming?Yeah?No? Well that is exactly how I feel right now. Laying on my bed after a long bath, after thinking so hard. Ever Since my parents told me about us being Werewolf and that we were staying in a Werewolf Community/ Pack here in Canada, I was so surprised and kind of excited at the same time. It was after my very first shift that they introduced the concept of mates to me, as werewolves we do not personally choose our life partners. The moon goddess does that for us, at first I was like, "uh why would a grown-ass woman be out there choosing our life partners for us?" but now I'm grateful for that because have it not been for her then my parents probably wouldn't have met at all.
My father explained to me that after my eighteenth birthday, Well starting from that day, my chances of finding my chosen mate will be high. My father ranks as the pack peace maker, with so many werewolves living in one pack a lot of fights break out so my father helps keep the peace. Most people find my father's rank rather weak and assume that he is weak for example, our Alpha's son, my all-time bully and our packs soon to be Alpha.
Today is my eighteenth birthday and I don't know how I feel, figured I should tell my mom about how I feel about this and she'll know exactly what to say or do, besides she is my best and only friend so she must bear with my vents. Unfortunately in Canadian Werewolf communities it's hard to accept a dark skinned girl with long ass black hair, wears glasses, has heterochromia and wears braces. And so as you might have guessed, yes I am bully target, who else would be perfect to be the victim other than the dark skinned Indian girl?. I'm hated for my skin colour by The Alpha and Luna, their entire family, Their Heir and his Friends, The Alpha's son' s girlfriend and her friends. I'm half Indian and half Canadian, I can't change that because that's who I am.
"Imani you better get up from that bed before I come over there and drag you to the mall" my mom shouts, oh yeah I almost forgot that we're going to town to collect my dress for tonight's party and possibly a few things, knowing my mom. " chill Nini, I'm awake" I whisper under my breath, going to look for something to change into. Since I am a huge fan of my mom's culture I tend to wear a ghagra choli ( a combination of a lehanga which is a long skirt and a choli which is a blouse) or I wear shalwar(salwar) Kameez.
After having breakfast we hit the road to town,rides to town with my mom are always the best. We sing our lungs out, enjoying the feeling of being together. just bonding and having fun.
Oh by the way my Name is Imani Priyanka Masse, I'm Nineteen years old. I have two older brothers Armani Varun Masse and Khamani Ashish Masse plus we have three younger sisters, six months old triplets Najma Aimme, Nuzhart Jacqueline and Navya Laura Masse. They're all named after our triplet great-grandmothers (the Indian ones). I have one brown eye and one hazel eye. Working at the library part time to have something to do during the day because I have no one to hang out with. My name is Imani, Welcome my journey.
