Chapter 24

Carlo snuggled closer and rested his head on Zen’s chest. Every muscle in his body was tense, and Carlo patted his belly to make him relax.

“Ryan and I met four years ago at work. He owns a restaurant, it’s a place where people come to eat, and I got a job there too. We dated for a while.” He tilted his head and looked up at Zen. “Went out to dinner, went to see a movie, things like that. Do you have movie theaters on your planet?”

Zen shook his head, still stiff as a board.
