Chapter 3

Christy

I groan while opening my eyes, I felt light headed and my head was pounding.

"O...wi..e!" I rubbed my head, while seating up, the fabric under me, was not as comfy as I recall my bed been. I opened my eyes fully and flinch when I saw the wooden window and the wooden ceiling with the wooden walls and closet. I reap the sheet from my body and quickly stood up.

I felt the presence of someone around me and I quickly whip my head around.

"Jesus!" I ran to the wall at the sight of him, I was able to remember him from his red lips. It was him! The boy next to me yesterday in class, I didn't see him today not like I cared.

He sat on the wooden floor close to a chimney with a little wooden figure in his hands, he wasn't staring at the figure but the flames, as he painted the figure black.

"Uh, excuse me, who are you?" I tried to act a little tough, boys fear tough girls, right?

Silence filled the room, the boy kept staring at the flames totally ignoring my questions. I couldn't find a door anywhere, just two windows, as to what I was seeing I guess we were in a cabin without door, how the hell did he get in here?

"I wanna go out!" I started panicking, I hate boys! With my dressing I don't think I'm save with him, boys don't control themselves when the see too much of a girl's skin exposed. I recall Sheila telling me of how her friend got raped, she was wearing a mini skirt and a net shirt when it happened.

"Is dangerous." He simply said still not looking away from the chimney and the fire, his voice was like nothing I've ever heard, it was cold and dead, no little sign of emotion, zombies display more emotions when the growl than him.

"I don't care! My mother would be very worried!" I yelled.

His gaze finally left the fire and lock with mine, and I wished he didn't do that, I back into the wall at the very sight of his gray like cat eyes, his pupils were two times smaller than mine, the gray ring around them were like an explosion of aluminum and blue making it look like they were glowing and it was just petrifying.

Is he going to hurt me? I'm just sixteen, I hate saying this but mum was right, it was really foolish of me sneaking out to a place I didn't even know, now I'm stuck here with a stranger with scary eyes. Is it how God had decided to punish me?!

"I won't hurt you." His emotionless voice came interrupting my thoughts.

"I -I can't stay." I stutter. He only drop his eyes to my bare stomach, I quickly wrap both arms around my stomach as goosebump grew on my skin, he was making me nervous and uncomfortable, his eyes! his presence! I just hated it!

"There are wide animals out there." He returned his gaze back to the fire.

"What?!" I gasp with wide eyes. How I wish Mum could here this, she is always like this place is safe! Turns out there are dangerous animals near by. "Look I just want to go back home!"

"You will, when they are gone during dawn." He grabbed a divider like in the class, he started engraving some bizarre symbols on the figure, now he was holding it a little bit higher than before, I could see the two pointed horns on the figure. My doubt are clear this boy is a freak! I don't know what he Is gonna do to me.

My heart was pounding hard on my chest, as my palms became sweaty, my eyes darted around the room looking for any escape. One thing mum taught me was to never trust a stranger particularly when they are guys.

My eyes settled on the large window I could easily slip through, I'm pretty skinny, this is the result of many months of bullies, at times I skip lunch and breakfast, so I don't eat too much and look fat and ugly.

I found myself racing to the window and trying to climb out when I felt a strong grip on my arm pulling me back to the mattress, he quickly release my arm.

"Seat!" He instructed, this time he did show a little bit of emotion, anger and irritation.

Without taking my eyes off his face I slump on the mattress with my legs on my chest.

He walked to the windows and shut them before going to the wooden closet.

The spot he had hold me was now hurting and a little bruise, his strength was no human to me, maybe cause is the first time a boy grabs my bare arm. I looked around the room for any weapon, only then did I notice the words engraved on the wall. THEM! The wooden walls were almost cover in the rough scratch of that word.

Great he is obsess with THEM!

One more reason to be scared by him. Is it how I'll become the girl who got raped in the cabin while running away from a party her wise Mum warned her not to attend? Or worst Christy Evans disappears after having dispute with her mother and she is found dead in a cabin in the middle of the woods.

Tears welled up in my eyes and began dripping on my jeans pant. I tried my best not to sob he might hit me who knows.

"God please help me, I swear I'll always obey my mother if I get away with this intact, please God, help me! Please." I had my head buried in my knees as I sob quietly, fear had grip me from head to toe.

"Stop! I won't hurt you." He said pretty aggressively before tossing a jack to me.

I flinched when the fabric touched me.

"Stop wearing crop tops." He simply said before going back to seat close to the chimney returning back to painting his figures.

I pick the jacket carefully, it was a long sleeve army jacket, I take a good look at it and sniff it, boys are dirty, I won't want to wear a smelly cloth.

It smelt fresh so I slip my hands through and zip up, that way I feel comfortable. But still he was a stranger and a weirdo.

I stare at him wiping the tear from my eyes. "Why are you keeping me here if you won't hurt me?" I sniff to clear my nostrils.

"Sleep, your head must be hurting." He replied in his dead tone.

I rest my head on the wall and curled in a ball, I shut my eyes and pretend to be asleep while parting my lids just a little bit, so I could see his every move, encase he tries something I'll know how to defend myself.

Few minutes pass before he stopped staring at the flame and took a little glance at me before returning back to staring at the fire again, this time he wasn't working on the figures, his pale hand flew to the croak of his neck, and he rubbed gently while Mumbling something under his breaths, he finally took his hands off and I could see the brutal purple bruise sticking out from his not so long hair. I couldn't tell what exactly cause the bruise but it was horrible to see.

My eyelid start to get heavy and I gave in and slept, I was woken by hushing whispers, It was him again, this time he held a knife close to his palm and was speaking to I don't know who, no one was in the room but he seem to be having a serious discussion with an invisible person.

"No!" He whispered. "Not here!" Then he turn his head to my direction, I quickly shut my eyes fully.

All I heard was quiet footsteps heading towards me. I know he has a knife imagine the panic, was he going to stab me?

I felt the sheet on me and believe me honestly it was like all of a sudden ice water fell from heaven washing my fear.

I heard him walk back to the chimney and only then I peered, he was seating on the wooden floor staring at me, his face still held no emotion as he stared, I didn't like the way he was looking at me while I sleep, but yet I felt a little warmth deep in my heart. I shut my eyes and returned back to sleep peacefully.
