Chapter One: Kakashi Hatake

(Mayumi's POV)

"This better be worth my time, Iruka." I sighed, following him to the Third Hokage's office. I normally wasn't asked to come to the Hokage's office, but this morning was the exception. Iruka placed his hand behind his head, rubbing his dark brown hair. "I know you don't like being called in Mayumi, but the Hokage said it was important that he see you today." Iruka explained, causing me to roll my eyes. Once we arrived to the Hokage's office Iruka placed his hand on the door handle. "Try not to be too annoyed Mayumi, remember it's Lord Hokage." Iruka stated as I motioned for him to open the door.

Once inside I was met with a dark set of eyes. Standing in front of Lord Hokage's desk was none other than the copy cat ninja, Kakashi Hatake. I never personally met him, but I have heard of him due to being apart of the Anbu Black Ops. "Ah, there you are Mayumi." The Third Hokage's rhaspy voice pulled Kakashi and I out of our unofficial staring contest.

"What did you need from me, Lord Hokage?" I questioned, my bright green gaze shifting back to Kakashi. "Well, we are in need of new squad leaders for our Genin." Lord Hokage began to explain. I sighed deeply, having a hunch on where this conversation was leading too. "Lord Hokage please don't.." I groaned, causing Lord Hokage and Kakashi to smile amongst one another.

"I think this will be a great opportunity for you, Mayumi." Kakashi stated, his voice causing chills to run down my body. I rolled my eyes and leaned against the wall next to the door. "And how do you know that, Copy ninja? You don't even know me." I scoffed, causing one of Kakashi's sleek eyebrows to raise. "I know everything I need to know about you, Mayumi." Kakashi stated as I looked back at Lord Hokage.

"What does he have to do with this? Isn't Kakashi already a squad leader?" I motioned in the direction of Kakashi, who was politely smiling at me. "Well, I feel like you need a little guidance in this situation. You may be extremely strong and talented when it comes to fighting." The Hokage explained, causing a shitty grin to form on my pale face. "When it comes to social skills and teamwork though, that's where your lacking." Kakashi added. I immediately became annoyed with Kakashi's words, taking a few steps towards him.

   "Like I said before, YOU know NOTHING about me." I hissed. Kakashi sighed and took a step towards me, closing the gap between us. "Mayumi Kaneko, eldest daughter to Lord Kaneko one of the founding members of the Anbu Black ops. You're Twenty- Six, blood type is AB positive. You specialize  in the art of silent killing, and your one of the last users of the Kekei Genkai Ishi kettei-sha, better known as the Decision Maker." Kakashi stated, his dark gaze never leaving mine.

   "Good for you, you can read." I scoffed, rolling my eyes in defense. "Now, now you two. Kakashi, I will check back with you in three months time. Mayumi, use this time to learn as much as you can from Kakashi." Lord Hokage instructed as I sighed deeply, turning away from Kakashi to face Lord Hokage. "But Lord Hokage!" I went to argue yet again, as Lord Hokage held up his hand. I stopped mid sentence and sighed in frustration as I turned and headed for the door.

    "Where are you going?" Kakashi called from behind me as I headed down the hall. "Anywhere away from you." I hissed, causing Kakashi to chuckle. "You know, the whole point of this is to make you a better ninja." He explained, catching up to me with ease. "That's what Lord Hokage said. I'm still not buying it though." I shook my head as I continued to walk out of the Hokage's Mansion.

   "Wait." Kakashi grabbed ahold of my arm, spinning me around to face him. "At least give this a try. You don't have to be happy about it." He explained as I sighed deeply. "Only for three months.." I groaned, shrugging my arm out of Kakashi's grasp. "We meet tomorrow morning, at the training grounds. Be there by eight." Kakashi stated as I nodded, walking away from him in frustration. I still had no idea how job shadowing the copy cat ninja would help me out in anyway but, I had no other choice.
