The Warrior of Old

When I gained consciousness, all that I found loitering about in my mind was a chaos of memories. Through a pain that seemed to be twisting my very being in and out of existence, my memories slowly started to reconstruct themselves. Ah yes, I remember now. My name was...something I do not remember, while my name is Adoneous, the son of a commoner. Due to my mother being of a beauty seldom seen, she was taken by the god, Ares, and I was the fruit of their union. I was currently on a mission to gain power, to prove my mettle to the world and gain access to Olympus.

As I opened my eyes, the suns soft rays greeted me. Hmmm, a rocky island. I could only see rocks and cliffs as far as I could see. No, there was a small ship docked nearby. Where is it...ah, there it is! A short distance away from shore, it was a small vessel, but comfortable for at least 3. Suddenly a thought brought me back to reality. Where was I?

As I recalled the current condition the previous owner had left me in, I could not help but want to curse him out loud. But then again, he was not to be blamed, after all, he was the son of Ares, and he was not the smartest of gods. Well, turns out, that Adoneous, me, had thought that the best way to prove his mettle to the world would be to slay a monster few dared to speak of, the strongest of the gorgon sisters, Medusa! Thus, in all of my brilliancy, I set sail from Athen, to the island of Medusa, with resources and a sword.

Well, now that I was here, I needed to make sure I could get out of here alive. Popularity was not something I was keen to gain right now, for it would put me on the radar of the Gods. Thus, I wanted to gat out of here as soon as possible. But the boat that I had brought with me, was bashed into splinters, after being steered into a cliffside. Thus all that was left was an anchored ship, to far away to board.
