Lord Gabriel had given Ethan the truth serum to uncover the young man's true identity, but the serum didn't seem to react at all. There were no physical signs that should have been present in someone who consumed the truth serum.

Ethan appeared completely normal, unaffected by any dizziness or discomfort. His gaze remained sharp.

"Do you make love to Helena every day when you were still together?" Lord Gabriel asked, starting a question he thought Ethan would answer truthfully. Sometimes, the young man was quite open about his sex life.
