Hayden’s POV
“You can’t go after her.” That was the first thing Xavier and Claudius had told us. His statement had ripped a growl from my chest, and I took a large step towards him.
“And why the f*ck not?” I challenged him, but the older wolf seemed undisturbed at the tone of my voice.
“Because you have a duty here—” He began speaking, but I cut him off.
“She is my duty!” I roared, my fists balling at my sides as I tried to control the anger that was flaring up inside of me. It had been hours since we had woken up and discovered that Eleonore was missing, hours since we had realized that she thought she seemed to be some sort of burden to us, to the pack—hours. And we still hadn’t even made so much of a plan to try and get her back.
