概要

"Does the snow exist in summer?" she asked ironically. The man didn't answer. It wasn't that he was dumb, not knowing what the answer was. He knew the meaning implied in her question. He didn't want to answer because it was bitter, it would wake him up from the fantasy he indulged over the years. She sneered, "You know, snow never, and will never be exist when summer comes. It melts when the summer comes. It's just like my love that end before it begin."

Chapter 1In One Summer

It was summer. The temperature was getting hotter as the sun rose above everyone's head. Moreover, this year summer was hotter compared to the past few years. Some news even reported this summer was the hottest in this decade.

In an intersection bustling with white collar workers who were going for lunch, umbrellas were above their heads, preventing themselves from the scorching sunlight. Sometimes they waved the other hand as if it was a fan, hoping that it would cool them down.

Not far from the intersection, a row of restaurants and shops that had opened since morning were ready to welcome the customers that would peak in number at this hour. The chefs in the kitchen were busy preparing the ordered menu while the waitresses smiled genially to every customer that came in to the restaurants.

In a small alley among the restaurant, right beside a french restaurant, two children were sitting while hugging their knees, side by side. Sometimes, one of the children would put her head down in dejection. The other one, on the other hand, would squeeze her tiny hands whenever he saw the little girl expression – trying to cheer her up.

They wore oversized tattered clothes that full of patches. The fabric was already thinned out and the color was dull.

Their bodies were dirty because of the dust that

They had been sitting in that small alley almost half a day. The little girl grumbled from time to time as she was hungry. Her stomach would growl from time to time. The little boy could only coax her that it wouldn't be too long for her to eat and gave her the water from a mineral water bottle that had been used for several times, hoping that it would delay her hunger.

The girl incessantly murmuring about what she would eat to divert her attention while the little boy could only smile helplessly. To her, for not being hungry, she had to talk more and imagined what she really wanted to eat. They kept waiting, side by side, until the lunchtime was over.

The lunch time was finally over. The workers returned to their respective workplaces. The kitchen staffs and stewards began cleaning the table, utensils and the kitchenware. One of the staff brought a plastic of garbage with one hand while the other hold a plastic container filled with leftover food. He opened the backdoor and saw the children who usually waited for him had already been there.

The little girl's eyes lit up when she saw the man. She excitedly jumped up from the ground followed by the little boy. She walked towards the man and asked in excitement. "Big brother, what are we going to eat?" She eyed at the plastic container hold by his right hand with greed.

The man shook his head helplessly. He gave the container to the girl as he said, "Be careful. There's onion soup in it. It's still hot. I also put some pieces of bread in it. Eat with your brother." He looked at the little boy who was standing behind the little girl.

The little boy looked back at the man - straight eyes to eyes. The little boy said flatly, "Thank you big brother." His current expression was far different when he was just with his sister. He didn't speak and maintained an indifferent expression but the man knew that behind that expression, the little boy was grateful sincerely.

It would create misunderstanding for strangers to see the little boy acted that way - People might labelled him as an ungrateful brat but the man would not. Well, it wasn't that he wouldn't misunderstand him as he had already did when he saw the little boy from the very first time.

At that time, he fond of the little boy cuteness but the little boy only stared at him flatly. There was no expression. His thin lips were in straight line. At first, he found it funny when he saw a stern looking little guy. He thought the little guy was just guarded himself but after sometimes, he didn't find it amusing anymore. He was vexed by the little guy's indifferent expression.

Fortunately the little girl salvaged the situation. The little girl told him that her brother didn't like to speak. She also told him that her brother always kept that face from time to time.

The man knew that the little girl was lying. As an adult, he could see a tinge of hostility in the little guy's eyes towards him.

"Brother, We'll go. Thank you for the food." The little girl bowed her little body as she grabbed her brother's hand and waved her hands to say goodbye to the kind big brother. Then, she turned looking at her brother while walking to their home. "Brother, do you hate that big brother?" The kind big brother always gave them delicious food, at least thrice in a week. He was also kind to them that he would gave them money although it was only some cents. He never treated them rudely, unlike those adults who would mock them once they saw their unkempt, dirty appereance. To her, that big brother was kind, an angel sent by the heaven to them. He also had a genial, warm smile that she couldn't help but to side with that big brother the moment his smile flashed past her mind.

The little guy only replied, "Don't be so close to him."

The little girl blinked her eyes in confusion. "Why?" That big brother was the kindest person she met. Why did her big brother said that?

The little guy patted her her head with his other hand. He sternly said to her but concern couldn't be concealed from his eyes. "It's for your own good. Just for this time, please listen to brother." The little guy, after living in poverty since he could remembered things, had developed a habit, no, it would be precise to say that his instinct had developed. People whom he ever encountered was different in nature. But they had common things.

Although the little girl was still curious, she obeyed her brother. She would ask about it later. "Ok."

The little guy lips lifted up. "Good."

Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

I see dead people. But hey, it’s the zombie apocalypse, everyone is seeing dead people, including a blind girl. It’s not like I am that special. For a while, I thought I was going to be Cinderella, complete with the cruel stepfamily and the little mice for helpers. But instead of mice, I got demons from hell with a taste for chaos. Then again, there is nothing wrong with a little chaos in the middle of the apocalypse. It’s what makes life worth living. Unfortunately for others, they don’t quite see it that way. You see, I have a gift. One that isn’t exactly mine, but I can use it however I see fit. My gift is granting wishes. I'm a genie without a bottle, but it would be nice if people appreciated me more. All the humans ask for is the same thing… more food here, shelter there, kill these people, torture those. And I do it all, for a small price. I don’t ask for money or food, I can get that on my own. No, I want favors, souls, something that means everything for the other person. And they give it to me. Their momentary desire worth their long term happiness. But by the time they discover that, I’m long gone, already moved on to my next… client. I know I look young, starvation and abuse will do that to a girl. Humans tell me that I shouldn’t be wandering out there alone. Some try to help me… most don’t. But whoever said I was by myself? Just because others couldn’t see them didn’t mean my demons ever left. I still hear their voices in my head, whispering words of encouragement and love. For them, I’d do anything. Kill anyone. Destroy anything. After all, life is just a game, right? Those still alive at the end of the day were the lucky ones. Those who died were not. Everything is just a game of chance, all a human has to do is roll the dice. My only word of advice is to be careful what you wish for… you just might get it. My name is Hattie, welcome to my world. Would you like a cup of tea?

Caring for Mr. Mutant

[COMPLETED] How can a Mutant and a Mutant Caretaker fight for their love, if science is their greatest enemy? ------------------------ Year 2023: Random DNA mutations suddenly occurred around the world. These mutations caused newborn babies to acquire animal traits, and no one knows why or where they originated. Year 2033: When funds, advanced technology, and a capable workforce became available to study these mutants, a national team of scientists was formed, called the "DNA Mutation Cadre" or "D.M. Cadre". They were given modern, state-of-the-art laboratories complete with equipment and isolation rooms. Here, mutants were studied and monitored in exchange for a large sum of money and government assistance. Year 2048: In the busy city of Makylee, a 25-year-old part-timer, Lia Brentvale, got fired from her two part-time jobs in just one unlucky day. Since her parents aren’t around, she’s the breadwinner of her family, providing for her two college brothers. She applied as a Mutant Caretaker in the D.M. Cadre Research Facility and after passing their exam, she was assigned to the mysterious and aloof vulture mutant. But as she got to know him, she also learned more about D.M. Cadre. Together with her hacker friend and their batchmates, they tried to uncover the deep secrets that lie within the research facility. ------------------------ PREVIEW: Aesop had always felt that being a mutant is a curse. But upon meeting Lia, he started accepting himself. Lia was always pointing out his strong points. She was always encouraging him to enhance his skills and discover his talents. She always tells him not to think of himself as a test subject just like how the scientists treat him. She reassured him that even though he's a mutant, he's not less than a person, so he shouldn't look down on himself. It was her uplifting words and her mere existence that gave color to his monochrome life. "Lia… I love you," Aesop uttered as his golden eyes stared through her deep blue eyes. "Ae, I… I love you, too," Lia then wrapped her arms around Aesop's neck, drawing in close to him. Aesop's hands slid down to Lia's lower back, and he embraced her. Their heartbeats quicken as their lips graze against each other. Lia thought it would be just a simple kiss, just like they had always done after their very first kiss, but she was wrong. Aesop's right hand suddenly caressed her back, then he placed it at the back of her head, pulling her to him with a little force. The vulture mutant's majestic wings enveloped them, and it was as if he was owning her. Aesop's wet tongue slid into her mouth, and it surprised her. She tried to resist, but with his hand at the back of her head, she couldn't get away from him. Eventually, she gave in to that passionate kiss... NOTE: Not a superhero story, but tackled more of science ethics and social issues ------------------------ UPDATE: Added CFMM Special - The Afterstory chapters after the Finale. The Rebirth of SOPHIA GREEN

COMPLETED For nearly 30 years of existence, she had been in a wheelchair, suffering from polio since childhood. While her freedom of movement had been diminished, the activity her brain had outstripped everyone. Unable to join in the rough of other children, she had spent all her lifetime reading, which gave her exceptional knowledge. She accomplished many outstanding achievements across several fields and became a famous Science Professor. Her life changed forever when she was caught in a suspicious fire in her lab. Rebirth occurred and when she comes back to life, she finds she is now in the body of another Sophia Green, a teenage high school bully. Meanwhile, Albert Pearson, the first heir of the richest family around the country who hid his true identity becoming an assistant of Sophia Green has gone crazy after hearing the news of Sophia's death. He went back to his family and took advantage of his status to keep searching for the truth of that fire. And one day he met a teenage girl whose name was Sophia Green... Fate changes between them as they are seeking the truth behind her death! Could he recognize Sophia and confess his feelings? Special Note: If you are looking for a sweet contemporary-romance genre, this novel doesn't have that kind of plot. Most plots of my novel talk about mystery, suspense, and a slice of life. Often FL starts a slow pace of development, from weak to strong. Cover Created by: Weilan
