Nyx Ulric has survived the battle! But how? His best friend Libertus was happy that he’d made it, but how was this possible when Nyx had made a deal with the Kings of the Past to give up his life for the kingdom’s people. What or who brought Nyx back? As Libertus learns of his friend’s survival, he goes on a trek to find him. As Insomnia is under construction of being rebuilt back to its former glory, Nyx is finally able to live his life as he’s earned it: free to do anything. Along the way of putting things back in order though, a mysterious woman shows up in his life, and much to Libertus’ begrudgement she starts to earn her way to Nyx’s heart. But is she worth it? Or is there something more dark and sinister behind her batting eyelashes of love?
It all started here...
The battle had ended, and as Nyx leaned back against the rubble from one of the many deteriorating buildings that had crumbled during the battle, the clouds parted as the sun started rising in the sky. His left arm began to crumble like an ashen fire that had just been put out, embers drifting up into the air then soon fading away, and that's when he let out a heavy sigh. Looking out to the horizon, ready to accept his fate that he'd accepted only moments before the battle with general Glauca, he smirked at the rising sun.
"Rule well, young king."
His eyes closed slowly and for a moment he felt a wave of deep calm and relief wash over him like a wave. This was the end. He made the deal to trade his life to safeguard the future for at least a while. And it was okay, he thought. His thoughts soon blurred and his world went dark.
