9. DIVERTING

"You have a really pretty smile." He said, looking at me intently.

"Is that the name of the place?" I asked, teasing him.

"No, let's just get out of here first." He said, giving me his hand.

I hold it and we stepped out, instantly welcomed by the cool breeze, which made me shiver.

He saw it, he take out his coat and put it on my shoulders, our eyes looked at each other's again.

"Thank you, Enzo." I said.

"No problem, kiddo." He said.

"Kiddo?" I asked.

"Yup. You are still a kid." He said, as we walked to the parking lot.

We walked to a car, a Chevy car.

"How can I trust you? What if you are a serial killer?" I asked, acting to be scared.

"Will you just get in?" He asked rolling his eyes.

I laughed and settle inside.

He started driving and then stopped at what seemed like a supermarket, and asked me to wait in the car.

Then after fifteen minutes he came back and started driving again, we were going towards the end side of the country line and we were entering the village parts.

"Are you going to bury me alive, in the village? That's really sorry to be honest." I said.

"You really don't have patience do you?" He asked.

"No, no no." I said, in a sing-song manner.

He stopped at a hotel and asked me to change, and went outside. I put on a tracking pant and full-sleeve top. I washed my make-up off, and tied my hair in a ponytail. I stepped out of the room and saw him, he had changed as well, he was wearing a green t-shirt which looked good on his tan skin and brought out the color of his eyes.

"You look more pretty without make up." He said.

"Yeah, you definitely are planning my murder in your mind, aren't you?" I said, looking at him with a puppy eyes.

"Over dramatic teenage girls." He said and walked in the opposite direction.

"Who you called over-dramatic, you old man?" I said, as I run to catch up to him.

We finally reached the top of the mountain, from where we could see the lights and the stars. While I was busy in looking at so many stars shining so brightly in the sky.

"Hannah?" He said my name and I turned around to see him standing with a cupcake in his hand, with a candle on it.

"Happy birthday to you, Hannah. I know we just met but I can see the kindness in your eyes, and I guess you deserve one good gesture before your birthday gets over, so that when you remember your eighteenth birthday, you have a good memory to have focus on."

I felt my eyes get all teary, and I just walked over to him and hugged him.

And he just gently patted the back of my head.

"Come on make a wish." He said.

"Who is a kid now?" I asked, with a giggle.

"Just do it, Hannah." He said.

I closed my eyes and blew off the candle, after making a wish.

"What did you wish for?" He asked.

That you get your one true love that you deserve.

"That no matter what I eat, I don't gain a pound." I said.

He chuckled and whispered, "Ugh...young girls."

"Boring old men." I said, pulling out my tongue at him.

"It must have been hard." He said, while we were sitting on a bench.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, breaking up with your boyfriend, that too on your birthday." He said.

I smiled, a sad smile, and looked at the starry sky.

"No this is not hard, you know what hard is. I was near twelve and the guy must be in his twenties , I saw him crying, it was raining outside heavily. I asked him what happened and he looked t me with those sad tear-filled eyes. I sat down beside him and asked what's wrong with him, and he said that he had an argument with his girlfriend, and he didn't got to say that he loved her, the last words he said to her that he doesn't care about her and the very same day she met with an accident and was dead. And that's what hard is." I said with a long, deep sigh.

"What...what happened after?" He asked, his voice shaking.

"I gave him a hug and like the silly girl I was, I told him that I love him." I said with a chuckle, "I don't think that would have helped him in any manner, but he looked at me with gratitude-filled eyes and a small smile."

"You know it might have been silly to you but it might have saved him somehow, you never really know." He said.

I turned to look at him, and saw that he looked deep in thoughts.

"Do you remember how he looked like?" He asked.

"No, I was quite young, I guess if I think hard I might remember." I said with a shrug.

"What would you say if you meet him again?" He asked.

"That I am happy for him, I am happy that he chose to live even though it might have been so hard, he still decide to live carrying her memories in his heart. Even though many girls might have broken his heart he still remained the same, and kept her in his heart." I said.

I looked at him and he had tears in his eyes, and he looked at me with tear-filled eyes, as he leans closer and softly kisses me, I didn't move because I was too surprised. Then he immediately pulls back and look at me.

"Sorry...I just couldn't control myself." He said.

"Why did you kiss me?" I asked, in a whisper.

"It...you touched my heart." He said.

I don't whether it was those eyes or those words or those eyes or the manner in which he wished me or I was feeling emotional at that point of time or the alcohol we have had, I kissed him back. And he kissed me with the same slow passion. Our lips in sync, but it felt like he was touching my soul rather than just my lips.

I pull back and said, "I guess someone might see us, let's go back in the car."

He picked me up bridal style and I chuckled.

"Let's forget everything about our previous life for one day." He said.

"One day." I whispered back.
