Just a heads-up—this story is still in progress, so you might bump into a few typos, grammar slip-ups, or even a character with the wrong name (oops!). Don’t worry, I’ll fix it all once the story's done. Consider it as part of the adventure for now! Update: I’ll be posting 3-5 chapters every Friday through Sunday.

Louise's P.O.V

I stared down at her, my heart pounding so hard it felt like it might burst out of my chest. She wasn't moving.

"Catherine?" I whispered, my voice trembling with fear.

I waited—prayed—for some sign, anything, that she was still with me. But there was nothing.

The steady beeping of the heart monitor beside her suddenly flatlined, cutting through the air like a knife. I froze. That sound… It couldn't be real.

The nurses moved quickly, voices rising, but their words barely registered in my mind.

Alice rushed to Catherine's side, her hands moving with the precision of a doctor in crisis, but her eyes were wide with panic.

"She's in cardiac arrest!" Alice's voice sliced through the fog in my head. I watched, numb, as she began CPR, pressing down on Catherine's chest in desperate, rhythmic movements.

I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think.

The baby—Sky—was gently lifted from Catherine's arms by one of the nurses. I watched them take him away, but I couldn't move. My legs felt like they were rooted to the floor. My eyes stayed fixed on Catherine.

I was losing her.

I collapsed to my knees beside her cot, my hands trembling as I reached for her. "Please, Catherine, hold on..." My voice cracked, barely above a whisper. "Don't go. Please..."

I gripped her hand, waiting for her to squeeze it back, waiting for her chest to rise, for her to take one more breath. But there was nothing.

No response.

Her body stayed still.

The room felt like it was collapsing around me. All I could hear was the sound of my heart breaking.

"Catherine?" My voice trembled as I gently shook her, but the cold, suffocating truth began to sink in.

"No..." The word slipped from my lips, weak, broken. I shook her again, harder this time. "No, no, no!" My voice grew louder, more desperate, as if I could force her back.

"Catherine, please!" I screamed.

The raw anguish tearing from my throat. "Wake up! Please... don't leave me!"

My hands gripped her shoulders, shaking her, pleading with her. My entire world was crumbling, and I was powerless to stop it.

Alice's hands fell still beside me. She was crying now, her body slumped with defeat.

"Louise..." Her voice was soft, filled with pain, but I didn't want to hear it.

I collapsed against Catherine, burying my face in her chest, my sobs shaking my entire body. She was gone. The woman I loved, the mother of my child, was gone.

"Catherine, please..." I whispered, my words barely audible. "Don't leave me..."

I held on to her, clinging to the hope that maybe—just maybe—she would open her eyes. That this wasn't real. But it was. And I felt my heart breaking all over again.

Suddenly, I felt hands on my shoulders, pulling me back. Devien was there, his voice gentle but firm. "Louise, you have to let her go." His words hit me like a punch in the chest.

"She's gone," he said, his voice thick with grief. "You have to be strong now—for your son."

I shook my head violently, tears streaming down my face. "No... no, I can't..." My voice trembled, my entire body wracked with tears, "I can't do this without her."

Alice knelt beside me, her hand on my shoulder, her face tear-streaked and pale.

"I know it's hard," she whispered, her voice breaking. "But you have to stay strong. Catherine wanted you to protect Sky. She gave everything for him."

The words cut through me, slicing deep into my soul. Catherine was gone, but Sky... Sky was still here. The last piece of her.

I collapsed into Devien's arms, my body shaking uncontrollably. Through my tears, I looked down at the fragile baby, the only thing I had left of Catherine. My heart broke all over again as I stared at Sky, so small, so helpless.

I took a shaky breath and leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead. "I'll protect you," I whispered, my voice barely a breath. "I swear to you, Sky... I'll keep you safe. For her."

The room fell silent again, save for the soft hum of the machines. My world felt shattered, but I had to keep going.

Suddenly, a loud beep pierced the quiet. The computer near the far wall flickered to life, its screen flashing with new data.

Devien was the first to react, rushing over to check the monitor.

His eyes widened as he stared at the screen, his expression one of disbelief. "Alice... Louise!"

His voice was filled with shock and urgency.

Alice quickly stood, wiping her tears as she hurried over to Devien's side. I stayed where I was, holding Sky, numb to everything around me.

"What is it?" Alice asked, her voice shaky as she looked at the data.

Devien's hands shook as he pointed to the screen.

"We did it," he said, his voice barely holding back the flood of emotion.

"The cure... we found it. We made the cure!"

I stared at them from across the room, my mind barely able to process the words. The cure. We had been chasing it for so long, and now, after everything, we had it.

But Catherine... Catherine was gone.

"At what cost?" Alice whispered, her voice filled with grief as she glanced toward Catherine's lifeless body on the cot. "We found the cure, but we lost her."

I stood slowly, Sky cradled against my chest. My legs felt weak, and my heart was heavy. I walked toward them, my voice hollow.

"We're too late," I whispered, my words barely audible.

The lab fell into a suffocating silence once more, the only sounds the soft hum of the machines and the quiet, rhythmic breaths of the last...

Omega.

The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

[COMPLETE || WARNING: MATURE CONTENT 21+ // Watch Me Burn Them For You] "And if someday you see me, remember to forget my name, or karma will bow." **** For Awuor’s power, her people had done the unthinkable, in the history of werewolves. Her beta and brother, Dom, murdered their mother, the Sicario luna and blamed it on Awuor. In his grief, her father didn't bother to try and find out the truth, instead, for murdering her mother, he gave his daughter the worst punishment any alpha could ever get. He banished her from home, but Awuor’s wasn’t the usual banishment. Her father neither stripped her of the alpha title, nor did he make her a rogue. Instead, Alpha Sicario forced Awuor to be an exiled alpha, a woman so powerful, but with no one to rule over. Her mate, Jer, a power-hungry bastard, stepped up to rule the Sicario pack, since Awuor, the reigning alpha, was away, and Jer never once sought her out. Just like everyone else, he had betrayed her when he claimed a different woman, without rejecting Awuor. As the gates of Sicario closed on her, as her people watched her in disgust and disappointment, the daughter of Sicario had just one thought. A PROMISE of destruction & vengeance; she would ruin them all. *** [EXCERPT] "Either you're from the Dawson pack, the Bluemoon pack, or the Sicario pack, because you're definitely not from our Greyson pack. You must have done something really stupid for your alphas to banish you, even though you have no scent of the ferals. "So that could mean you're not a feral, but you're certainly not that important to your people. You seem to have an attitude and reek of power, that's why you don't appreciate anyone talking to you like a regular wolf. "But all of that doesn't matter right now, because you are the unwanted little wolf. The girl without a home, the rejected wolf who can't be claimed by anyone else. You're dressed in banana leaves because you have no clue how to make proper clothing on your own. "— or even check the feral cloth reservoir on the west of this forest. The fact that you have stayed so close to the other three packs is because you don't want to be away from home and are somehow hoping that they'd want you back. "Allow me to spell it out for you and make it easier for your probably useless brain to understand, little wolf, no one wants you. I'm only taking you to my alpha because your presence here is a nuisance to us, and for some reason, the alpha is interested in you. "And before you get any ideas about mates and whatnot, our alpha is already mated. So will you get up on your own, or do we have to take you stripped? Because I for one have no problem doing that. We could just treat you like the rogue that you're not," Adolf said to Awuor who still had her angry smirk on.

The Ogre Strength Fairy and the Eldest 'Son'

~Updates Daily~ (usually near 8PM ET / 1AM GMT) Other Tags: #GL #Slice of Life #Comedy #TheStrongActingWeak #ChildhoodSweethearts (It counts!) Single love interest Yuri! No lengthy misunderstandings over this fact~ --- After failing to ascend to the heights of Divinity despite all her preparations, an ancient cultivator finds herself not embracing the emptiness of the void - but the interior warmth of a womb. Her memories intact despite her spirit being a merest fraction of her height - and her trusted Astralism unchanged - she carefully starts over from an infant. How to navigate her family: [really easy with only two parents and an estate full of servants!] How to portray herself: [everyone likes 'sweet' kids and trusts (underestimates) 'weak' girls!] How 'quickly' to reveal the power she gathers: [this region is a 'backwater', let's just take it slow~] How her marriage was arranged before birth: [my parents adore me so at an appropriate time I'll just have it cance- oh?] Dealing with an 'amusing' deceit: ['he' looks worried still, but 'he' doesn't have to worry from me!] Confronting the 'boy' in private: [whatever their iffy plan is, I just obtained a husband-wife~] Even in a new life, | Elua er Goltbred | can't and doesn't *want* to change who she really is. A scheming cultivator. A possessive lover. Neither of those things had been a real hindrance to the Peak of Demi-God. Balancing the two in this life - without driving away the young 'boy' she decided would be hers - centers as much around helping | Qatrand er Yecine | find herself... as it is hoping to ease the fiance into how messed up the 'younger' girl honestly is. It's a good thing that the reborn cultivator can improvise with her ridiculous control of an Illusion Astralism - because plans fail and unexpected things happen when you're not *really* a genius. Like her Physique in this life allowing the lightest 'grip' to crack stone... | Qat | (the nickname picked almost instantly!) despite being a little stunted by her family environment early on, finds her future wife to be 'cute' on their first meeting. ... she really shouldn't have let on. It made her | El | kind of vain. Oh, and muscles. | Elua | : I just like looking at them, okay!? Is it so weird? People can have hobbies... - - - > Types of Cultivation // Spiritual (Soul), Physical (Body), Essence (Qi) > Aspect Trinity // Astralism, Physique, Element 'Ranks' Initial - Early, Mid, Late Lower Realms // Enchanter, Primalist, Breacher Upper Realms // Defier, Demi-god, Divinity - Echelons (First -> Seventh[Peak]) - - - Cover Art: AI Text Prompt Generation + title (etc.) added with an image editor. I also tend to do other 'fixes' in post! Potential trigger warnings: > A FL that may seem (to some) like they are being groomed due to 'true age' difference. > A MC that gets a little 'thirsty' a little 'young' but tries to 'keep her own pants on' until the proper age. > A toxic family environment willing to force an unloved child into the role of a crossdresser. A child that grew more than okay with it. > 'Pretty Good Dad' intentionally 'picked on' by his 'sweet daughter' for being a relatively 'minor obstacle'. Seriously, you were warned, average fathers with teenagers. Do not engage your trauma.

Jock Next Bed (BL)

College was like a wake-up call for most people. Especially the likes of Christopher Owen, who spent the rest of his high school years messing around and pining for the boy he never had. Having had a frustrating high school year, he decided to dedicate himself to his studies in college.   He flew many miles away from home, changed his looks, and hid his real identity from everyone.  His plans were simple: study hard, pass well, no dating. But then he realized two things: life was anything but easy without the backing of his last name. And... he wasn't sure how long he could last before he jumped his roommate, who was obviously not gay. But lust wasn't love, right? Maybe he could indulge a little? Just a little, I promise. ***** EXCERPT: "THAT ARROGANT, GOOD FOR NOTHING, DEMONIC IDIOT! I HATE HIM SO MUCH!" "O-kay... what is going on?" A friend asked him, watching as he paced around the room he just entered. "After battling for a long time. A LONG TIME!" he breathed heavily before continuing, "I... I confessed to him today." The other sat up, eyes wide. "For real?" "And then... with that stupid lollipop in his mouth, he just looked at me and said Okay. OKAY!" Gasps. "I didn't even know people said "okay" to love confessions, but he said "okay" to me!" -- Meanwhile, while he was there panicking, the one who had been confessed to remained seated where he was in the room. He had not moved an inch from that position since he got confessed to. But if one looked closely, they would notice how red his face was, up to the tips of his ears. He suddenly chuckled to himself. "That idiot," he muttered, looking at the door the other had taken.
