In the year 2213, the world was met with a strange calamity. Monsters, grotesque and terrifying, began to appear out of nowhere, attacking all living things in sight. Humanity fought back, but their weapons were ineffective against these creatures. As territories fell and became scarce, nations put aside their differences and merged into one, united against this common enemy. During this time of crisis, people who were more exposed to these creatures suddenly gained abilities. They created books that documented these abilities and used them to train the military. Once the crisis lessened, these books were shared with the common people to give them a fighting chance. Those who had not shared their abilities were called the “Pioneers” and they started their own factions and organizations. The previous government was recognized as the military, who had control over the Earth’s abilities. With the help of these abilities, technology advanced by leaps and bounds. In the current time, 2225, the protagonist turns 16 and has to go to Military school, which is compulsory for everyone to gain the abilities needed to defeat the beasts. However, Roland has a mysterious book left for him by his family. Little does he know that the book plays an important role in his future... and his past.
