I wish to go back to my normal self .. it's hurting me so bad I wanna die... please take it away" The skies rumbled and a blinding light covered Layna as she transformed into a white wolf with good streaks on its head. "awoo!..... awooo!" she howled After some time, she transformed back to her human form and walked back home. Liam who was watching her from the shadows came out and stared at the moon, his eyes red. He pondered on all she had said, ' I wish to forget all the love I had for Liam ... I am not a pushover... I let you hurt me ... who loves someone like this?' "why?" he asked himself Later that night after the party, May slept over at Layna's house because she was drunk. " oh Layna.. your party was lit... it was like the best party of the. . 'hmmm.. love indeed ' he thought He flirted with all other girls while making sure Layna saw him. Contrary to his thoughts, Layna remained unconcerned and her expression was as calm as a lake. It seemed like she had totally forgotten Liam and didn't even know who he was. This continued for a few more weeks till Liam approached her again. "Layna! what the heck! why are you acting like you don't know me? I get it I said some harsh words but couldn't you just let it go?" For some reason Layna felt hurt by what this person said but she didn't know him. 'who goes about talking to strangers?' she thought The whole class stared at them with varying expressions especially May who had been suspecting that something was off about Layna. Layna looking around realised she thought out loud, an embarrassed smile on her face, she asked Liam, "I'm sorry if I sounded rude but you look like a pervert, staring at me all day long when we don't even know each other" "What?!" Liam exclaimed wide eyed "you don't know me?" A friend of Liam approached her asking, "you don't know Liam? your friend?" "we're friends?" she asked confused "but I really don't know you? It's not like I got into an accident" May who was determined to use layna's amnesia so that she won't ever remember all the pain Liam caused her replied, "of course not.... don't listen to them. it's a prank... this is actually my first time talking to him too and we're always together so where could you have met him?" Liam stared at May and realised that layna had lost her memory, not just any memory but every existence of him!

She's dying

As Layna got home that day, she cried her heart out and couldn't attend lectures the next day because her eyes were swollen. May came to see Layna after lectures. Her mother was so worried as Layna just kept crying but didn't say anything so she interrogates May the moment she got there.

"Tell me May.... what happened to my daughter? What happened to her?"

"aunty...." May sighed "Layna was hurt by a jerk... this stupid boy she's been crushing on and he even humiliated her", May said getting angry again as she remembered Layna's state the previous day.

"Oh my poor girl....." Her mother sighed

"I'll go check on her" May said

"go on... go on"

May got to the door of Layna's room and knocked. Not getting any reply she called out to Layna,

"Layna... it's me May... please open the door"

After a few moments of standing outside the closed door, she placed her ear on the door and called out to Layna again. May heard a faint moan and her heart beat accelerated. Rushing out the corridor, she called for Layna's mum.

"Aunty! Aunty!..... something's wrong.... I think Layna tried to hurt herself"

"What!?"

Her mother found the spare keys to Layna's room and opened the door but Layna was nowhere to be seen. May walked over to the bathroom and let out a shrill scream, Layna was submerged in water in her bathtub.

Moments later they were in the hospital and the doctors were trying to revive her. They were trying to pump out the water that had clogged her airways. May watched in anger and utter sadness as her best friend lay almost lifeless on the hospital bed. Layna's skin was pale, her knuckles and lips white. One would think she was dead if not for the beeping of the device monitoring her heart rate. The rise and fall of her chest indicating she was breathing was almost nonexistent. May clenched her fists and wiped her tears then she left the hospital. May stormed the bar Liam was at in fury. Walking in she saw Liam seated on a couch surrounded by scantily clad girls, furious beyond reason she grabbed Liam's collar. The scene was so weird as Liam was tall and she was shorter and very petite.

Tears streaming down her face she asked,

"Did you really need to hurt her? Did you?" she chokes as more tears streamed down her face "she's dying now..... she's barely hanging on .... the doctors are trying so hard to..." She weakly let go of his collar as her hands flew to her mouth to suppress her sobs.

"she won't die ..... now stop making a scene here already..... it's not like I promised her anything" Liam said coldly

May saw red, "if anything..... I mean anything happens to Layna....hmmph" she scoffed "forget about staying in this city.... I will kill you in the worst possible way"

"Are you threatening me?" he smirked

May smiled but it didn't reach her eyes "watch and see", she said and with that she left.

Liam clenched his fists tight as he watched May walk away.

Meanwhile Layna's mind was replaying all that Liam told her in her unconscious state.

"I can never love you"

"you're just so-so"

"stop embarrassing yourself"

The voices kept echoing as she tried to find a way out of the dark room she was locked in. She kept looking for a way to escape then she saw a flickering light. She followed the source of the light till she opened her eyes on the hospital bed. Glancing around she saw her mother leaning her head on her bed. She was asleep but there were tear streaks on her face. Even her father had returned from work and was sitting on the couch in the ward leaning against the wall. She lovingly rubbed her mother's hair. May walked in with food and exclaimed seeing Layna awake. Her mother and father woke up and looked at her worried. She felt guilty for worrying them and started apologizing,

"I'm so sorry mum .. dad... May... I'm sorry for not considering your feelings when I...." she choked
