Once the hospital released Roger, the police arrested him for what he did. He got off light with me.

As for Dad and Uncle Nixon, there was tension between them. Both were stubborn and felt the other was in the wrong. We got in the crossfire. Dad wasn’t talking to Nixon, and Nixon was being Nixon throwing digs at him, every chance he got. It was a mess.

Things got out of hand when everyone showed up at Grampa’s house for dinner.

We walked in, and Nixon said, /"Oh, look. It’s Nashville! Now we can eat because heaven forbid anyone keep anything from him!/"

Dad walked away.

/"Yeah, that is right. Keep walking because that’s what you do well, right? Walk away when things get rough! You did it with Maggie, and you’re doing it now./"
