The newbie

In darkness keep your light on. It's spine-chilling in a dark room, playing a macabre game.

Takes a long breath "So who are we gonna call?"

"Pablo can you shut up, I'm talking to my girl"

"Seriously Os, if you wanna talk to your girlfriend just leave this room because we are concentrating on something important"

They joined their hands together and started to call out a dead man's name thrice. Everyone called him out"Alan, Alan, Alan". They closed their eyes and held each other's hand tight expecting something would happen this time. But it turns out to be nothing, and then Jake shuffled and got up saying "Can we just stop playing this game?"

"Why what's wrong?" Pablo said

Jake chided "Look we are not kids anymore to play this witless board game, this is our sophomore year; we must be hanging out with friends right now, parting, having fun, getting high and falling in love". A long pause stayed in the room "This is so dull".

"Well we are having fun, aren't we" Mia sighed

"Oh really! You think this is fun, this is bullshit" Jake yelled

He got vexed and left the room at once followed by all his friends.

Pablo shouted "ir, a quién disablos le import" (he yells in Spanish)

As everyone left his house he takes the board game and tossed it out of his window with wrath and collapsed into the bed thinking how they spent their childhood days.

The next day,

"Every morning starts a new page in our lives," said Kyle. He got up from the bed thinking how his first day of sophomore year would be, he got a quick shower and ran to his lucky charm and said," wish me luck mom". Lily said,"My blessings are always with you darling" and comforted him. He plays the radio (Forever playing); he started the engine and hit the gas. Within no time he reached the school and got down from his car and gushed "Meadows High". He took his iPod and went in the right to his locker; he opened it and placed his books in.

"New?"

He was surprised at her and asked,"New ?"

"Yeah, are you the new arrival from New York?"

"Yap it's me" they shook hands

"I'm Kyle, Kyle Carlson"

"I'm Sara Lucas, nice meeting you"

Within no time they created a bond with each other and Sara took him for a quick tour around the school.

"On your left you can see the sluts of our school; The Meadows Elite cheer team and on your right, you can see the morons; The Blazers who paly soccer. Next to the slute is The Comets who I don't wanna compare with anything because they are worse than worse, they play baseball. That guy in the cafeteria entrance is my boyfriend Sebastian and the person right under your nose is Sara Lucas the student body president".

They glared at each other and Kyle said,"Tha t's cool".

Once he realrealized the wonderful privileges of Meadows. He went to his first class of the day. He entered the class and everyone started to whisper among themselves, he anyways realized what topic it was. He mumbled,"The -newbie-talk". Then the teacher walked in with a galling face and said," I'm your down on one's luck teacher again". Some giggled and some groaned and Kyle with Nil expression, he was expecting something different in this new journey. Later, the class for over and he went for his first break, he sat in the cafeteria all alone. He took his black sketch and art book out and started to draw what he saw in there. He looked around to see whether someone or something was still other than trash cans, tables or ,the serving area. Then he noticed someone lying on the table, so he decided to draw him.

Later in the classroom, Pablo was scrolling through his phone then Jake tried to approach him, but he went away. So he followed him and said," seems like someone is not going to accept my apology".

"That someone is ready to accept the apology and apologize for what he did, seems like you are not going to forgive him," said Pablo

"Look I'm sorry; I shouldn't be creating a drama out there

"Then why the hell did you not accept my fucking apologize message" Pablo snapped

"What message?" Jake stepped closer

" My voice mail, you did not even bother to open it" Pablo sighed

"You know I don't check my voice mails, okay fine, coffee at Baristas" Jake replied

"I'm not coming" Pablo yelled

"It's on me," Jake said

"I'm in" Pablo murmured

Jake started to run after his reply. He went to his locker and got his sports kit and ran for his baseball practice.

At Baristas

"Hey do you know about that new kid in our class, I had no class with him (he slurped his Frappuccino) "tell me about him".

"He was kinda cool looking and silent and he's there" Pablo recounted and pointed towards the coffee table on their right. After they finished their drinks and sides, they got up and paid the cash in the counter and Jake said," I got some work to do so I'll catch you later man " Pablo replied back "Sure".

He watches him go until he reaches his car and then advances towards Kyle with a panic felling and said,"Hey". He turned back with a smile and replied "Hey, what can I get you?" he replied back with a sheepish feeling " Just a glass of water". He turns towards the water purifier and fills the cup with water and gives it to him with a grin.

"So you're Kyle," asked Jake

"Yes" Kyle responded with a twinkle in his face

"I'm rounding up the entire class in my house tomorrow, wanna join" Jake gushed

"Hmm.....yeah sure" Kyle replied back

"Okay and then meet you tomorrow" Jake winked his eye and got down from his chair and walked away. Kyle continued to see him as he passed through the door.

While Kyle came back his mom was waiting with bated breath, she hugged him and asked," How was your first day son?". He saw his mom with a drained look and said," You mean the first day of school or work" Lily said,"both" and he replied back," teadious; both were tedious but I have good news, I made it to a party, a guy in my class invited me tomorrow".

"That's stunning", new kids never make out to a party; you are going to have so much fun this time" she blabbed.

In the dark

An old odd person in the middle of night dragging a dead deer to the mouth of a cave, he drags the carrion and lets it down and rushed fast. A low groan from the cave and a creature haled in the dead.
